but this season showed differently

That he can be an elite defender on a sub .500 east team?

He was showing elite defensive skills here. The problem was that he was playing behind another potential DPOTY in Herb, who was the best perimeter defender last year according to all-defensive voting.

The problem was that his offensive game wasn’t showing out here and Atlanta showed that putting him in a more orthodox offense did wonders for him.

I really hope this is where everything is leading. Combined with the rumors that the FO loves Malone, maybe Griffin can convince Gayle to let him bring in Malone. I really don’t want Dumars, and really want Swin gone also (still unsure what she does besides being a minority female hire)

Are you saying get rid of Willie and Swin (because she’s a black woman) but give Griff another year of BS press conferences and pick another coach? If not, please clarify?!?

Please be Malone
He won't want to come here, nor would Gayle pay the market rate on a guy of his caliber.

It wasn’t a bad trade. They traded a player that seemed like he couldn’t beat out an UDFA for playing time, along with what should be 2 late 1sts for a perennial All-Star point guard

You have got to be joking. We overpaid for the BI version of a pg. He’s never been a perennial all star. He’s made one appearance as an injury replacement. So really one less than BI. The only piece that should have been moving for Murray was BI….

Lots of revisionist history here.

That makes him an absolute liability in late game situations. We saw it first hand

He’s elite defensively and will likely be on the all nba defensive team. And will only get better. But keep making excuses for the bad takes.

I think the only reason this is thought as bad is because Murray got hurt.

That's what I said. The wrist injury was already bad, you could tell it affected his shooting. Then the Achilles magnified that.

People forget that Murray was 3rd and Jones was 4th in spg prior to the season ending injury

On offense? It's not looking like it at all.

And his offense is still a liability, especially his FT%. He'd have gotten run this year here no doubt, but only due to injuries. ATL wasn't exactly great this year.

And his extension is coming up fast. He's the type of guy teams sign to $20M/year deals who regret it a couple months later and then the contract is a negative value almost immediately.

He's not currently playable late in a playoff game still. Not wit his Shaq-level FT%.

No I’m saying keep Griff if it means we can get an elite coach like Malone here.

I would much rather a Malone/Griff combo over a Willie/Dumars combo.

And as said, I just don’t know what Swin does, nobody knows, her salary could be spent better elsewhere

This reads like some solid buck passing.

Green didn’t play Dyson Daniels enough . . . hold him accountable.

Griffin completely whiffed on 5/6 offseasons and burned the entirety of our war chest with nothing to show for it . . . no accountability.

I just hope the new GM realizes that Zion is the problem. Griffin's biggest mistake was going all in on Zion as some sort of basketball messiah and accelerating the rebuild. You can't build around that guy.
