His mom played basketball at UNO.

Harper is a perfect fit. Fingers crossed.

I truly think he’s the guy, not Flagg. He fits with Z, Trey and Herb more than Flagg. His dad played on some of the best teams in history for the Jordan/Pippen/Rodman Bulls so he’s been around the game. I wish Flagg were 40 lbs heavier and an inch or 2 taller so he could play the 5 but he’s a 3 or 4 and that’s Trey and Z

You take the best player available. Period. Fit is a coaching problem.

Derik Queen from Maryland can play . I’m not sure he first with the Pels but he could be a guy that stock is starting to soar

I agree but do you see Flagg as a better pro prospect than Harper? I don’t follow college basketball much so to be honest I really don’t know I just see a logjam at forward if we add Flagg but I’m sure we could make it work somehow.

I don’t watch college sports at all so I can’t begin to form an opinion but if our *new* GM decides Flagg is the best prospect and we have the 1.01 we should draft him.

But I do see your point because I can’t really think of a team that had elite forwards that won it all. There’s usually a combo of an elite guard/big or elite forward/big. We may have to trade off of somebody in that scenario.
As I clicked submit, I thought of the Celtics recently winning it with Tatum/Brown. So maybe it is doable.

I agree you take the top player regardless of fit if its a tier 1 prospect(Lebron, Shaq, Luka, Wemby, what people thought Zion was). I think this draft has 6-7 tier 2 guys that could each be the star depending on where they go and who they are paired with.

I think Harper and Flagg are the safest bets. Although if you told me in 5 years it was Edgcombe I wouldn't be shocked.

I don't know if Flagg projects to be a prime creator /a guy you run an offense through. But then again he is 18.

Harper is so damn smooth. He has a high high skill level and that poise.... but average nba athleticism. Sometimes that doesn't matter (Luka) and sometimes it is a limitation(Cade although he is improving).

yes. Harper is very good and I’d love to have him but Flagg is elite defensively and also 6’9. Harper is 6’5 and doesn’t possess elite athleticism. Only thing holding Flagg back is his perimeter shooting which is improving

Both Harper and Flagg seem like very high floor picks. I’ll be very suprised if either aren’t very good players in the nba. Perhaps not franchise changers, but very good players.

Flagg is still the clear 1 though to me. At his age it’s really impressive the all around game he is bringing. 3pt shooting is to near .370 as a just turned 18 year old is something.

Yup, you take Flagg at one and roll out a lineup of Murray, Flagg, Trey, Zion, Yves.

Let the coach figure out the best way to maximize that talent on the floor.

That would be a ton of size too. Get a big that can rim protect to give Missi more time. Have CJ and Herb and Jose off bench. That’s a ton of talent.

Would trade Hawk and pieces for a stretch 4 to build more depth too

I think Flagg is the most talented. But I wouldn’t mind Harper (who seems like the better fit for the team constructed now) or Ace Bailey. I wouldn’t mind any of them.
