Why doesn't the local media ask questions that we want to hear? Are they told what to ask during press conferences? Would they get their press passes pulled if they asked questions that made things look bad?

Why haven't they came about the Willie Green extension?

Because the Team holds press credentials and access like a mafia boss.

Only way you'll ever get sources is by creating relationships. It's a delicate balance. If you're known as the guy who asks "those types" of questions, your questions will be useless as the entire team will be ready and know to just give you non answers. It's easier and more meaningful to create the relationship and get the info as an unnamed source because ultimately, it's the only way you'll get the info.

From what I understand, the entire Boot Krewe Media bros just got their credentials revoked the instant the season ended, pretty sure it's because of how negative they were towards the organization. Not just in pressers, but overall on Twitter and their podcasts.

I've been listening to Boot Krewe and I like where they're going with it. They spit facts on what's really going on . Also Big Q podcast

They ask questions, but they’re not a disgruntled message board.

Imagine if the Knicks did this to a NY media member. Revoking credentials because you don’t like the freedom of speech Boot Krewe expresses is basically a form of Pelicans communism. But yeah Gayle is such wonderful sweet lady lol.

Do you really think Gayle controls press passes? She wants the team to do well and make money, that’s about it.

Gayle is the owner of the team. You people act like shes some mentally handicapped woman who has no idea whats going on. And if that is the case why the hell do people want her to stay as the owner?

Yet you are acting like she handles all aspects of the team by herself. How many owners do you think handle the distribution of press passes? Do you not think an owner hires people to perform day to day operations?

I think owners who are involved have an idea who’s part of the press and who’s not. I do think an owner hires an individual, but I also thinks its their job to over see them and know what they’re doing.

When you frick up at your job you think your boss isn’t responsible because he/she hired you to do the job? Just say it like it is- Gayle doesn’t give a frick and is a completely non involved owner.

Why shouldn’t they? This isn’t the old days where the media was more powerful than the teams. The teams are the content and they know it now

The NY media is definitely more powerful. Its a sign you’re from nola and haven’t experienced living in bigger markets when people make comments like this. The New Orleans media is basically a joke.

I haven’t lived in a bigger market… but what happens in New York isn’t relevant to what happens here. It’s an 18 million metro area compared to 1.3 million

In some ways it’s a cultural thing. Sports media down here has never been as aggressive as it is in NYC.
Frankly, fans down here would be shocked at how players, coaches and owners are covered by the New York media. I don’t think it would go over well at all with the general public.

They didn’t want to sign there because at the time the knicks organization sucked not because of the media. Thats changed now with how well they’re playing. How many free agents are clamoring to come to nola?

Small markets have the ability to freeze out media outlets, the Saints are notorious for it.

Heck, LSU froze out Moscona with a lot of access because he was frequently critical of Orgeron.

Yup. They try to control whats being written and public opinion to sell tickets despite the losing and other issues with the team.
