BFFs or not, if we get the right guy in here to take the next step, AD will be fine. I like Boogie a lot. I think this team can be a noghtmare with Boogie, AD, and Niko, but you cannot deny that the same thing could be said if Boogie walks and we get a legit 3.

If he is truly only willing to play with a contender, then Lakers, 76'ers, and Pacers are the only playoff teams with max space available.
76'ers won't happen as Embiid is not sharing the spotlight. I doubt the Pacers make a play for Boogie coming off the injury with Sabonis and Turner already in the fold. So the main challenger would be the Lakers.

No, but you said something that many have been thinking. There are a lot of people that don't fully understand how the system works and think that no Cousins somehow gets the Pels closer to a better SF when it doesn't.

I don't care if this is just telling people what they want to hear, I'm excited he said this. I think it helps the Pelicans in the eyes of the public and it helps how AD sees this team. If both sides are being mature about the process, generally, these situations work out. If you are ruthless, act with unilateral action, or are immature, these situations typically go up in a flame of glory. I'm glad he's being or appearing to be mature about it. I applaud him

Someone pointed out in that thread how it was a virtual unknown person without many followers or tweet history who said the thing that ended up being advantageous to Boogie. In TD terms, it was an alter.
I just went to look at the twitter page of this elizabeth_rupe and the account is suspended. LINK Smells like a set up for manipulating public opinion to me.

For real though, as has been stated a ton the only real teams that have space and might be interested would be the Lakers and Dallas. Him wanting to go to a contender throws Washington in the mix, IMO. That's the best play for all involved.

Yeah, people need to remember that injuries played a big role in who missed and made the playoffs. There was a lot of parity 3-10 and if Memphis drafts an impact player and gets Conley back then 3-10 becomes 3-11. Without adding Paul George first, at best the Lakers are one of 10 teams fighting for the last 6 playoff spots, but most likely they're 10-12 on the outside looking in again.

Sure, but how do you get that legit 3 without parting ways with Niko?
Nobody is going to give up that much for a Solo/mid-late 1st package.

I took that to mean it's all business and he's open to anyone offering him max money. If Sacramento wants to offer him a max contract he won't sign there, but he'll pretend that he will to get more money from the Pels.

This article/interview doesn't hit without Boogies team giving it the okay. This was a vechile to present Boogie as working his tail off. By all accounts, he was an excellent teammate. It probably does piss him off that people think the Pels are better off without him (Spoiler: they aren't).
As far as teammate relationships are concerned, grown men who don't see each other every day, friends or not, can go weeks without speaking. Doesn't mean they aren't close or important.
Signing Boogie cements probably the deepest roster the Pels have had at their Top 4 players.

PHI
Kawhi and PG status being unclear, along with the significant drop off of WSH,MIL, etc, makes Pels core on of the best in the league.
