I'm beginning to think the Pels used this season to up Lonzo's trade value. And prior to the bubble you would say they accomplished it. I still think they did after the bubble. Lonzo and Jrue won't be here when we hit our championship years. I don't know if we start the major roster changes in this abbreviated offseason or not, but I wouldn't be surprised. Fire Gentry. Trade Lonzo now for future picks. Trade Jrue at the deadline next season for the same. Wait until Zion and BI have matured together and then use our enormous draft capital and get 1 or 2 more stars because we will have enough ammo to do so

Considering what CP3 has done in OKC, I can't see why OKC would ever just get rid of CP3 for one 1st only.

that was kind of my point. The whole reason we want him is to mentor our young guys. Well that's exactly what OKC wants him for. THey have the draft capital to rebuild, just like us. So what's their incentive to trade him if it only fetches a mid first at best?

Everyone looked checked out

How about hire a coach that holds players accountable

Don’t buy this leak anyway. Talking shite about a player isn’t how you build his value

but I don’t think there is any question that the make-up of this team right now outside of Zion & Ingram will not win long term.

How can anyone say that when the roster is as young as it is? You don’t think Hart will continue to improve? What about Zo? If those two take a modest step forward, the team is already better. Not to mention Zion and BI will improve too.

This is a ludicrous statement.

Agree it was a check out, top to bottom. When I see Booker or Lillard talk about how they amped were to compete for a playoff spot in the bubble, it just shows how big the gap was between those teams and the Pels attitude.

I find this concerning. One thing you have to watch out for when you've got a squad of high draft picks who were treated like stars most of their young lives is how much they actually love the game. To me it looked like Lonzo left his jump shot in the recording studio.

Zion and BI are the only immovables. Everybody else is fair game

Jrue is the heart and soul of this team and JJ has been a fantastic addition. Four immovables.

If that were even remotely true the entire team would have taken on his defensive tenacity

I never see Jrue rally the troops to be better. He might lead by example on defense with his efforts but that’s it

That’s the best way to lead in sports. This team would collapse without Jrue.

And this team collapsed with Jrue. Even Holiday isn’t good enough to carry this team.

They definitely need to adjust the center position on the roster. Hayes is allergic to rebounding and Favors is allergic to scoring. Neither fit with Zion

Why are people asking for cp3 in this thread lol. His contract is crazy. And doesn’t fit our timeline. Let LONZO develop. Pre bubble he was good. Josh hart needs more minutes. He’s a glue guy. Get a new coach. Consilidate our talent and go after a big name.

You can’t “go after a big name” in our market, until we have established ourselves with the guys we have. They will not cut it going forward. Lonzo also doesn’t “fit our timeline”...I think you know what you will get with him. If Ingram and Zion are our best players, then we need more firepower. Chris Paul has 2 yrs left on his contract. You have to resign Ingram, suck up the cap with CP3 and you don’t have to worry about whether it’s worth it to pay Lonzo or not before you have to max Zion as well. Chris Paul on this team next year gives you a leap in wins greater than what the Thunder had this year.

id only bring in cp3 if they gave us some of those picks they got from the clips with it. I worry about his health tho to last a full season. This year might have just be an anomaly for him

Playoffs don't matter as much to us as it did to the Rockets. I feel like this trade would require a third team though.
