I wouldn’t want to live in Nola. I think Zion is a good kid and probably truly doesn’t want to live out here and don’t blame him, neither did Sean Payton.

However I think he is a good a teammate and truly likes this team, however he is really torn between not wanting to be here and being a good teammate.

Change of scenery and being somewhere he truly enjoys living may do alot of good for him and his career.

Zion aside, I said a while back that there's no freakin way his family is happy living in NOLA

They spent several million dollars renovating a historic home and when you walk out the front door you see a big pile of trash cans and destroyed streets

They left a mini-mansion at Duke to come here and worry about being robbed or carjacking every day

It’s the truth though and it’s obvious. He doesn’t want to be here but doesn’t want people to hate him and talk about him by asking out after signing a max deal and sitting most of the season…..again. I want Zion on the Pels but it’s clear to me he doesn’t want to be here.

Zion doesn’t want to be here but it’s not because of NOLA. It’s because he wants to be in LA or NY. He won’t be happy in any other market.

Then he shouldn't have signed the extension.

If Zion liked his teammates and loved playing with them, he would put a jersey on his big body and play with them tonight!

I've truly tried to stay out of the Zion fray, however I think this has been the case from the get-go. If this truly is the case, some blame has to go to the front office, not for trying to make things work, but for not protecting the team. You have a great group of young men who have embraced the city and are ready to ascend and have kept a gaping hole at one position.

I really want this to all work out, but I've noticed the signs all along and have seen this movie before. Once leaks start occurring in the media, positions get hardened and no good comes of it.

One of these things aren't like the other.

The organization failed CP3.

A broke owner which led to a period of uncertainty on whether or not New Orleans would even have a franchise.

Trading one of our best players and his best buds on the team in Tyson

An unwillingness to pay guys or invest in the franchise.

The Hornets were the worst run organization in the league. I don't blame CP at all for leaving. It was time for him to move on.

Why sign a $100 million + contract AND not play?

Also, its a player run league. Its not like players haven't demanded trades before with multiple years left on their contract

Pels were the only team that could offer max money

It was the max contract even though he had just missed the most recent season while ghosting his employer pocketing millions. The guy's mental attitude and reliability over his 1st 3 years were already suspect.

his interest or revulsion about new orleans isn't why he's not playing.

he told you. he's not up to the pressure of being needed so much. doesn't want to disappoint his teammates (or his sponsors).
he's the savior.
just read the threads.
if he plays now, they can get sooo far.
its crushing him.
he will try next year.

Chris Paul has ran from LA and Houston too. And the contract horseshite to make the moves were classless.

Chris Paul was always going to leave here, but Shinns bullshite provided a way out.

Also, frick Chris Paul, Team Rondo 4 Life.

Money talks. Pels were offering him the moon and he barely has to play.

But not really. He has weight conditions in his contract. He doesn’t meet those, he can be held out. He’s held out, per new CBA, he can’t get awards, win scoring titles, etc affecting his bonuses in contract.

So the Pels actually protected themselves.

NOLA is no different than most other big cities. crime is bad everywhere now

he can go live in Mandeville with BI if he doesn’t want to be in the city. NY, LA, SF, Chicago crime is equally horrible and there are plenty others
