a part of me wants to think KD should be pissed at the GS Warriors organization when the dust settles and he reasons this out.

For KD, it's that scary achilles injury, he's going to be 31 the next time he plays

32, and this reeks of the Amare/Knicks situation

Again, back to the same talk last night. Find me a team, first of all, with the assets we want. Then trade them all to our team. Review what’s left and ask yourself how that team competes. All with knowing AD isn’t staying with your team past next season.

Someone like the Nuggets could pull off a trade for AD and try to make a run at a championship next year.

On top of that, the Knicks don't want just KD, they want multiple stars...

And will a star want to voluntarily join KD on a max contract in NYK if they don't know if he will ever be the same?

It makes the Knicks pretty desperate in a variety of ways.

Multi team trade talk opens way more doors than straight Team A to Team B talk.

KD has a player option for $32m.

Unless he puts feelers out and can guarantee he gets a huge deal this offseason, why take a chance? He can get paid to rehab for a year and then Warriors will just claim insurance on him plus an injury exception to replace him.

The Thunder "knew" Paul George wasn't signing with them.

Would love to know what teams have the assets to trade for AD yet still be title contenders AND have a chance to re-sign him

I said it in another thread. Demand increased last night but the supply of assets to pay for AD didn't change. I do think what it does is put more assets in play but most of what that would do is push the teams with the most assets to go all in.

Look, Durant was a FA. He was going to be added at no cost to any roster shake up. Trading for AD is not an applicable replacement for that.

If you're the Knicks AD might be your only shot of attracting a Kyrie or Butler vs. building around #3.

If you're Boston, the KD injury plus a Toronto win in the Finals probably limits star player movement much more than was expected just a week ago meaning trading for AD has a much higher chance of keeping Kyrie.

I don't think it changed the main players in the AD sweepstakes as much as it changed the motivation levels of those players in a positive way for the Pels.

I feel like by not taking a max this offseason, that's the bigger risk/chance.

The return on Paul George sucked on paper. Same with Kawhi

Leave it to you to do everything you can to try and spin this negatively for us when even national media types are spinning it as a positive for us

It is really simple: AD becomes an even more valuable asset that someone can realistically acquire this offseason.

It is just that simple.

I think what he meant to say is, "I think the big winner in all of this is the Pelicans."

Davis isn't helped really at all, but if teams think they can grab Davis and contend they are going to be more willing to give up assets for him.

I'd go a step further and say Davis is probably a loser in all this.

The idea of narrowly keeping the suitors mostly between LA with Lebron or NY with Kyrie/KD likely took a big hit, which Davis certainly doesn't like right now. As to did the quality of his potential future teammates, as the final price probably just went up and NY's best case scenario just took a major hit.

Murray
Plumlee (and/or Gary Harris)
Porter Jr
Future picks

Still leaves Denver with:

Jokic
AD
Barton
Harris (or FA if he's moved in the deal)
Monte Morris

Along with other role players/bench players that they still have.

I'm not saying this is the best deal that the Pels can make, and it would probably turn into some sort of 3 way deal if it happened, but it's an option.

My thought process hasn’t changed for months bunchie lol

This logically does not make sense. That simple.

Pels arent operating in a pre-Kawhi/George world, they are operating in the post-George-signing-a-long-term-contract and Kawhi on the cusp of a championship with Toronto world.

On top of the prize of FA going down and perceivably flattening out the league in the minds of most GM's right now.

You can try, but you are fooling yourself thinking this is bad for the Pels.

Ol Windy said on first take AD goes from platinum to double platinum due to KD injury and possibility of Kawhi staying up north. I love it. Sucks to see KD go down but hopefully great for our trade return.

That's a personal indictment than.

A person's thoughts should always adjust and change to reflect and incorporate new information.

I don’t see any situation where they trade Murray for a year of Davis

Well that's your problem.

Yeah, you need to go take a logic course.

Davis just became more valuable this summer. Therefore, if he's more valuable, more teams will be willing to give up assets to acquire him, making the favored teams more likely to put in a "godfather offer" to acquire him.

It doesn't get any more logical than this.
