quote:
The Celtics were annoyed by the story of Irving having eyes for New York, not because of Irving, but because they felt the story was planted by Davis' agent, Rich Paul, in order to scare the Pelicans into thinking Boston would back off making a trade offer for Davis in July if Irving left.
"It was cheap and underhanded," one source told SN.

This guy needs to be banned or suspended from the league somehow.

You couldn't fault AD's character for the past 8 years. Voted the most selfless player in the league. A true role model for men and children alike. Then, without warning, everything changed.
The minute he signed with Rich Paul, something smelt fishy. AD's demeanor would go on to differ virtually overnight. He immediately turned from 'we' to 'me'. Whilst he kept on putting up monster stats, the shift was palpable. Suddenly, it was all about his legacy and when results didn't go as expected for his team - the New Orleans Pelicans - the implication was that his teammates were less than what was required to elevate him to where he felt he deserved to be. You rarely saw him celebrate individual or team success on the court in the manner of a player invested in personal - and equally as important - team success. Internalising was the name of the game.
But why?
Lip service lead you to believe he was still a member of the team, but he was no longer what you would consider a genuine team member. The beginnings of a rift between superstar and ball club had been established and would continue to fester away all season, with only the most trivial of signs of healing. Even the most optimistic of supporters feared the worst:- Yet again, a top 5 player would be loved and lost to the big wheels of the NBA machine. Fast forward to today and fruition is the term that springs to mind. Groundhog Day is another.
btw Rich Paul is cancerous and LeBron is by association

The other players and agents need to realize that, if Paul pisses off enough owners with this shite, he may very well lead them into a lockout.

True. Rich Paul would be nowhere without Bron. Plus Bron is a billionaire. So it should be obvious who pulls the strings

Unfortunately, Paul isn't going anywhere until LeBron decides it is no longer in his best interest to keep Rich around
As long as the NBA wants LeBron around, then so too will Rich Paul

Right now the players control the agents and that seems like how it should be, but there are too many shenanigans happening for the league not to find some way to address this. Too much power is shifting away from teams and when they fight the Billionaires usually beat the millionaires pretty handily.

Depends on when the next CBA negotiations happen and if LBJ and Paul are still involved at that time.
If it were anytime soon, this kind of shite will lead to a hard line by the small market teams used as a farm system for the roughly 8 “destination” teams.
As it stands now, LBJ could be retired and Rich Paul’s pull reduced by the time the deal expires.

Billionaires typically have business acumen outside of sports and a cash flow which can support them during a stoppage.
Millionaire players? If they are anything like the multimillionaire Cowboys player who just got his ride repo’ed, they don’t know shite about money management and can’t withstand a long stoppage.

As LBJ’s body deteriorates, that day of reckoning is heading toward us.
This season could be a one off as far as injuries go but he is in his mid 30s and most people don’t heal easily at that age or older.

Why? It was a desperate move to get what his client wanted, but that shite happens all the time.

Irving to the Knicks rumors have been out there for a while & Irving's own flakines has helped promote the rumors.

The problem is that the way he went about a lot of this stuff caused a huge shitstorm for the league, including shaking up three or more locker rooms for a deal that didn’t happen.
The LeBron / Rich Paul set will continue to blame the Pels for everything as the Lakers fail to make the playoffs this year.

Lebron is not a billionaire. Let’s not get crazy.

I doubt it. Anyone that follows the nba closely, including most in the media, or becoming aware of what’s going on, and it’s all on LeBron. There’s actual Laker people that are saying they would have been better off with Paul George than LeBron.

Tampering to cause discord in another teams locker room is scummy as shite.

Rich Paul is a mouthpiece for Lebron. This is Lebron’s doing. Rich is just the fall guy
