A lot of us assume Pels can only acquire one legit wing. Is it possible that they can acquire two by making small moves now.

Crewz has mentioned the idea of trading for bigger expirings now so we can acquire even more salary via trade down the line.

If we go that route now for a shumpert for example, is it possible pels can acquire two wings. I have debated middleton and porter in my head but is it possible to acquire both where hill, moore, ajinca, okafor, liggins, miller, possibly diallo and jackson, and a first rd pick are outgoing from now to feb?

They haven't had one in years, but now you wanna be greedy and ask for two? Slow down!

right now they don’t have any tradeable contracts big enough to bring back a legit player. Moore’s 8MM is there but I think they’d rather keep him as a player.

so yes I’d be in favor or swapping ajinca and other crap for someone like shumpert for his deal. none of the ajinca/liggins/okafor/diallo puu puu platter are going to affect game play anyway. So they’d be better off with a 10-12MM expiring they could pair with the first and bring back the long lost missing piece at the deadline

At this point I’d be content with just one and a serviceable backup. Seems like forever since we had a wing worth a damn

I hope Washington realizes their core cannot exist and trades one of beal or porter.

Moore+Hill+Ajinca+1st for Porter would help us all out (more of us of course)

hill and his 26MM is toxic
next year they can move him but not now

the only trade I see for him is straight up for MKG and even then I’m not sure why the hornets do that

You would have said the same thing at this time last year about Asik and everyone would have thought you were right. The Pels are one of the few teams that don't seem to be clinging desperately to draft picks since the most recent CBA changes and there's an advantage to that. For an Allstar level player the Pels won't be able to beat the market, but how many teams would be bidding on Barnes or an expiring Middleton that would be willing to give up a pick?

If a pick is their goal, whoever is selling a SF might find taking Hill's contract is the only way to get a 1st.

I’d agree if either guy was on the market but they aren’t
Middleton is the perfect second star next to the Freak and they’ll max him no matter what
Barnes is already locked in to that deal and Dallas wants to contend...he’s going to help them win

so who else?
they have to have a SF we want and want 26MM on their books to get the 1st

Say what?

I don’t think Middleton is getting maxed.

Middleton is to Giannis and the Bucks as Jrue was to AD and the Pels. He may be their 2nd best player but he's not a true #2 and because he has leverage on the Bucks they will have to overpay to keep him. As late as a month into last season, most people thought the Pels had made a HUGE mistake by not trading Jrue when they could.

bet you a six pack he gets every penny coming to him, from the bucks.
they’ll strip down to Giannis Middleton and the youngsters and then make a play for a 3rd star just like the pels are doing

like ATL says above the situation is identical to pels and holiday

There's a reason they let Parker go.

He wasn't their future and Middleton is definitely the more dependable of the two.

You think they are going to give him a contract starting at 32 mil? 5 years 175+ mil?

The Pels didn’t max out Holiday.

But the Pels had the same person that traded 2 1sts for Jrue in charge. I guess Bud might have enough pull to choose Middleton over flexibility, but I wonder if the GM wants to do that. Remember most of us thought Jrue plus our other contracts would keep the Pels from adding another star level player.

they’ll give him 30 or close to it
you’ve given no reasons why you don’t think they will other than disagreeing with me.

semantics of “max” aside there is zero chance they trade him for our crap or anyone else’s and that’s the point. back to my question...which wings and teams would take solo and his deal for our mid to late first? I’m not seeing any which is why I think they are stuck with hill this year and thus need another contract to trade

Last year at this time, would you have seen anyone taking Asik and giving us a very serviceable player in return?

There’s a very limited group of players who are worth 30+ mil, IMO. Middleton is not one of those players.

semantics of “max”

There’s no semantics argument here, a max is a max. Giving him 25 mil per isn’t a “max”, and that isn’t semantics. He qualifies for 30% of the cap, if he gets less than that, then it’s not a max contract.

As for the rest of your post, you’re arguing something that I haven’t even addressed.

no but asik wasnt traded last year at this time, he was traded in FEB and he was only owed $14MM gtd. solo is owed 26MM gtd. plus, CHI had a player we wanted and was re-building

lets list the teams that are:
-re-building and thus want the 1st
-have a player we want that they are willing to trade and are willing to take on solo's 26MM to do it
