Jimmy Smith hot take parodies:

@McNamara247 Jimmy Smith circa 1966 "U.S. Government wasting time researching so called Internet"

Jamile Dunn ?@Jamdunn06 15m15 minutes ago
@McNamara247 Jimmy Smith circa 3,000 B.C. "Pyramids won't stand the test of time"

quote:

Andrew Scherer
?@ahscherer
@McNamara247 "why sign a quarterback coming off of shoulder surgery? Terrible move by the Saints."

quote:

Philip Lasseigne ?@PLasseigne 2h2 hours ago
@McNamara247 why did the country run it back with Eisenhower for a second term? The VP Nixon needs a chance.

@McNamara247 "Jefferson's Louisiana Purchase a sign of his cheapness; if he really wanted US to contend should have spent big $ for Mexico"

I guess I'm indifferent because I don't read any of his stuff. Its just sad to think that I don't read anything written by the guys actually paid to cover the team.

And Scott K. is your guys best source. Read the Advocate. He does a great job and actually has real sources and connections.

Jimmy is holding a grudge and won't be around for long me thinks.

Hate to call for someone's job and wish a man would get fired, but I have to agree...Jimmy Smith is shite. He is the worst reporter/speculator I've ever seen. He probably had stock in Enron.

You should read the book "The System". It's all about college football scandals, and there is one chapter on 7v7 high school competitions at which Jimmy Smith used to coach. The author basically goes on a 5 page rant about how Jimmy Smith is the just the worst person.

Can you elaborate a little?

Wrong Jimmy Smith
There are 2 Jimmy Smith's at nola.com
One is the basketball writer.
The other is the recruiting writer. I think he was the coach.

Kushner is good. I hope the Advocate eventually comes around and upgrades their paper. I chose Advocate over T-P after over 25 years with the T-P. However, it is very frustrating that they have such a ridiculously early deadline that most sporting events occurring at night are too late for the paper. I have spoken with Kushner and know that is a frustration as well.

I still receive both at home, for some reason. I like the Advocate's efforts so far, but George, or someone, needs to bite the bullet and put a little more operation cash into the Advocate. Expand coverage and bring on a couple of additional true reporters who can actually write.

The TP was a very good paper just a few years ago, and it still has some talent. But it's a shell of its former self.

the ransacking of the T-P makes me sad though it probably shouldn't
we had a good sometimes great paper of record with a local pedigree
now we have an out of town shitrag and a poorly edited money for clicks website

of all the "local" New Orleans institutions that have faded away or been replaced the loss of the T-P should concern people the most. I sincerely hope the advocate can step in fully and give us back our newspaper

I just read his article...

I have to admit I believe everything he says. I am more surprised TP actually allows him to be so negative, but hey everyone has the right to express their opinion

I do believe a new coach not named Monty and hopefully a healthy team will put us back in the playoffs. If we get back in the playoffs hopefully this team will make some big "positive" moves the following year to put us in contender mode

You really belive a 'doubt of biblical proportions hangs over the Pelicans' offseason moves'?
