Love it. He’s got the highest upside of plowden, seabron, butler. Only 19.

Interesting. Plowden is getting all the raves in camp.

It’s interesting that Butler got converted to a 2 way over Plowden. We tend to call up our 2 way guys at some point during the season. Plowden makes more sense since he’s NBA ready compared to Butler.

I guess with our wing depth and the possibility of Hayes being moved, Butler got the nod. I’d be shocked if Butler play with the main squad at all this season.

Has Butler not? All I’ve heard the last week is the guy doesn’t miss a shot.

My gut says that we move Hayes in the next month or two. Liddell gets signed and then we can use his contract to create a DPE. Then Plowden and Butler end up being the two ways. Not sure if Seabron sticks.

I’m not positive on this, but my understanding is that 2 way players are not eligible to be “stolen” from our G League affiliate by another NBA team. Maybe the front office feels like Butler is more likely to need that protection than Plowden.

Don't think you can create a DPE that way. I think the player had to be on the roster prior to the injury.

Butler is a long term developmental project with a much higher upside than Plowden.

Dude has two things that put him ahead of the game, elite length and shooting.

If he can add strength/weight and the other aspects of his game you may have something.

Right. We're stashing him. It's not that different from stashing Matkovic.

I actually think Plowden has just as much upside as Butler. 1 just needs to work on mechanics and the speed of the game. The other one has to add 50 lbs and figure out what position he is supposed to play.

I don't think it's that complicated. He's a bench stretch 4 for when you want more shooting on the floor. His physical limitations are enough that even if he works out you may only play him in half the games depending on matchups, kind of like Billy.

Plowden is already 24 years old. He does not really have much too time to work on things. Butler is only 19 so can afford to take a couple of years to develop.

Except his body is nothing like Billy and we have 0 idea if he can play any center or even hang with the bigger stretch 4’s at all. The dude is Jaxson Hayes but literally 50 lbs lighter. Jax is 220. Who knows what Butlers game will end up being.

No one yet. However, at 19, he may be worth seeing how he progresses on the 2-way deal.

No argument there. Plowden also played in college for 4 years and simply hasn’t got the opportunity to play in the NBA yet. The dude is NBA ready in my opinion. Butler is not close yet and that’s obvious. It would be tough for Plowden to even get a chance with DD and Kira coming back but he is the only one of those guys who could somehow actually bring something to the team right now.

Edit: we can’t honestly judge players for being older and spending 4 years in college after our recent history right?
