@BillSimmons: At what point do Pelicans (4-13) consider trading Gordon/Anderson expirings, pulling a '97 Spurs + quitting 2016 for a real chance at BS?

Lol, "quitting 2016".

How does that work? The lottery makes tanking too risky does it not?

Ask Philly. They are the San Antonio spurs of tanking.

Wasn't everybody thinking about how great we were and how fantastic we were going to be after that three game winning streak just THREE OR FOUR DAYS AGO??

Can't wait to see what we are all thinking next week.

Simmons has a great point. This just isn't our year, and even if we made the playoffs and won a game or 2 against GS, what would be better for the team that or getting one of the top 4-5 picks.

You can't tank unless AD goes down.

Jazz outscored the Pelicans 19-4 in the 3 minutes and 40 seconds Anthony Davis didn't play. They won by 14. I can't get over that.

Had he played 2-3 more minutes he'd have singlehandedly beat the Jazz in Utah. The best you can hope for short of an AD injury is probably getting pick 10-11 instead of pick 13-16.

Don't have to quit for real. Just go back in time and not trade Nerlens Noel. Or better yet, trade for Nerlens Noel now since philly is trying to anyway. Get rid of Omer Asik and his slowness

Problem with tanking this year is that its a 1 star player draft.

Its Simmons or bust.

Yes please. If we are out of playoff contention when the deadline approaches absolutely.

We'll be out of playoff contention and not bad enough to get the first pick

To be fair, most teams end the tank at some point. No not them, they draft guys and then trade them thus a never ending cycle of tank. Makes me wonder why anyone would buy a ticket to go see that.
