This. I laugh every time people say gordon is the most overpaid player in the league. I guess they forget that andrew bynum is still in the league.

I don't know what kind of money he'll command but Wilson Chandler would be perfect for the Pels

He's under contract for $6.3m, $6.7m, $7.1m over the next three seasons, so you know exactly what he would cost us money wise, it's just a matter of what he'd cost in a trade. If Iggy picks up his player option (or they want to extend him), then they'll be over the cap, so they'll certainly be looking to deal someone like him or Gallinari. I think I'd prefer Brewer, though, who is a FA.

Brewer is really only good in the open floor. I like Chandler more.

doesn't take into account no one else on the team does well against "real teams" either does it? When we get killed, its the whole godforsaken team getting demolished.

The people that act like it would be no big deal to just upgrade from Vasquez should actually run down the list of PGs in the league. Vasquez is closer to the top 10 than people realize.

Then if they broke it down further to the one's that are actually good defenders, they could count those guys on one hand.

Vasquez is the most under rated player in the league. Not that I don't understand why he and the Hornets team don't get much air time, but he is greatly underappreciated due to the lack of chatter surrounding the hornets.

Seems the people that don't appreciate him are a block of Hornets fans, though. I see him getting love nationally.

I just ran down the list of PGs, I had Vasquez at 11, behind(in no order):

*Injured Rose
Rondo
Paul
D. Williams
Westbrook
J. Holiday
Parker
Lillard
Irving
Curry

I'd understand the people that might like Conley. After that though, you're reaching.

Folks that enjoy inefficient chuckers can have Jennings. Or take Lawson and watch him get abused defensively worse than Vasquez.

It's a one year deal. That is not close to the worst.

I would add Rubio to that list (getting his groove back after surgery) and maybe drop Lillard.

And lets all take a momemt to remember that McNamara's ideal summer move is to send Vasquez, Lopez, AND a first to Milwaukee for the right to pay Jennings $12million per year.

You don't think Lillard belongs on this list? You can't be serious?

And Vasquez has good offensive stats, but why do people overlook the fact that he literally can't guard any other PG in the league?

Has John Wall really fallen off that much? I know he has been hurt, but I doubt anyone would take Vaquez straight up over Wall. No disrespect to Vasquez, but I think you would have to take Lin as well. The marketing aspects alone would make him worth it and he is putting up pretty similar numbers (both can't guard anyone)..

You're definitely right. There's not a GM in the league that would take Vasquez over Wall.

Yeah, you need to add

Wall
Kemba Walker
Lowry
Calderon
Conley
Lawson

You are nuts if you think GV is better than Lawson. Dude will probably get MVP votes.

And this doesn't describe Lillard how? His defense is awful too. Lillard puts up nice numbers on a mediocre team while playing heavy minutes. He's had a good rookie year, but how much better does he get?

I took the list as a Simmons trade value- would I take that guy over Vasquez all things considered

quote:

Wall

Wall is a guy I would add. Forgot about him.

quote:

Kemba Walker

I'll be honest- havent watched many Bobcats games. Looking at his stats, Kemba is having a nice season, but you can find another small combo guard who scores at a decent clip fairly easily.

quote:

Lowry

A better talent and player but two teams gave up on him already and rumors were that Toronto was trying to deal him this past deadline. No thanks

quote:

Calderon

Same player- all offense, no defense. Calderon can shoot, but Vasquez is a better rebounder. A lateral move IMO

quote:

Conley

Just not enamored. He's solid, but doesn't blow my skirt up. To me, he's a smaller, better defending variation of Jack.

quote:

Lawson

Very good player, terrible fit for a Monty team. Considering Monty just got extended and isn't going any where barring utter catastrophe, that does matter.

Do they need another pg? Absolutely. Can I see Vasquez being a liability as a starting pg in a playoff series? Yes. Does that mean he isnt one of the top 12-15 pgs in the league this season? No.
