We have a perfect replacement with Murphy

They are completely different players. Total opposite skill sets. Only thing they have in common from a bball standpoint is they are both tall.

Seems like he’s a very non confrontational guy which means he avoids conflict and his players are blindsided by his decisions.

To be fair hes mentioned hes had conversations with Hawkins and JV in regards to their roles. I don’t think they were blindsided at all. Its a very big assumption to make that he has never addressed this with them before or immediately after.

In BIs case, Im sorry hes trying to win- when is he exactly suppose to address BIs role being reduced or not playing him in crunch time. He had no idea BI would play that bad and at the time he went with what would win him the game. Im sure he addressed it to him afterwards.

I feel like your making a lot of assumptions without knowing if Willie actually has conversations with these players or if they’re blindsided. BI might have been blindsided but Willie at the time is trying to win a game not coddle BI. If anything this is what Willie needs to do be a great coach.

He proved his postseason prowess in that Suns series. Absolutely legitimate that he was pissed he didn’t get run in the 4th, ESPECIALLY with Zion out. Hopefully he has something to prove Friday night.

I've finally come to terms with trading B.I. Him not supporting the team was the straw. I think he wouldn't mind be traded tbh. Get what we can for him that fills a couple of holes. Maybe Brooklyn is ready to come off of Bridges and Claxton... That would be a sensible trade.

And Trey is the better fit for the team.

You mean the series that he lost in the first round in 6 games where Booker missed games because of hamstring issues?

Some of you guys make BI’s performance in that suns series like he scored 50 to win in it game 7 of west conf finals.

The dude played well in a first round exit in 6 games.

I sure would have preferred BI on the court after Zion went out. This team is going to get worse the next 2 years, I'm afraid.

He didn’t disappear in that series like CJ has these past two high stakes games, that’s for damn sure. Love CJ and we aren’t even here if not for him but from 30+ PPG to bust is tough. BI brought it every game in that series.

This has become one of those mythical things that we remember it happening differently than it actually happened.

Don't get me wrong, BI wasn't CJ yesterday level bad. But he basically had 3 good games and 3 bad games.

And with the series tie 2-2, he shot 39% from the field in the final 2 games.

And for the record, I hold zero against him for that series. We were out manned and he was our best player and put up a good fight.

It's just that it gets remembered and often posted that he was out of this world awesome for all 6 games, but that just wasn't the case.

Exactly. Especially wit BI just comin back from injury. The rust was showing and the bench guys got us back in the game

Also tho, any competitor like BI would be pissed in that situation

I would have been pissed too if I saw a dumb coach still with CJ dribbling the hell out of the ball and then chucking up an off balance fade away consistently. No excuse for BI not being on the court after Z went down.

Huge difference between being pissed and acting like a baby. BI can pissed he got benched, but no reason to visibly pout on the sideline and then run out the building asap because you got your feelings hurt.

He basically acted like a child in a hugely important game. You can’t have your team leader and one of your highest paid players acting like that, especially someone who’s in year 7. He’s not a kid anymore, he’s in his late 20s and an vet.

It still pissed me off how he acted, but let's not act like it's some out of the norm thing. Kobe played a playoff game and barely shot the ball just to prove a point.
How many players of BI's level would have been able to pretend everything was ok while getting benched for the whole 4th quarter in a big game like that?

I look at it two ways. Irritated that he couldnt' support his team better, and happy that it pissed him off that much he wasn't playing.

Here's to hoping he comes out tonight and torches the Kings. That's what a true competitor would do.

One of these guys had been playing as good as anyone in the NBA for the last 2 weeks.

The other guy hadn't played in a month.
