yeah... not great... he's still shaking off the rust and it's going to be a while before 2 months of rust is fully off

but the Pelicans will definitely be a team no one wants to play come playoff time

we just need to make sure once Zion comes back we can get out of that 7-8 spot and don't have to worry about any play-ins

and then... just stay freaking healthy

Serious question. How many more times are you ok with saying this? This is year 4 of the same story. We hitched our ride to 2 injury prone guys. It sucks but it’s true. One of them has to go. It’s hard enough with your best player always being hurt but your 2nd best guy is also always hurt? That can’t happen.

I'm sick of all the excuses. The team has lost nine games in a row. That is unacceptable and they are currently playing like one of the worst teams in the NBA. I don't care how much time he's missed, under 30% is ridiculously bad for a professional basketball player. Even worse is that assist to turnover ratio. He needs to get his shite together fast or this team is screwed as who knows how long Zion will actually be out for.

Required disclaimer: IF we are healthy.

We are not consistently deep, as we thought we were, when stars are injured.

Pretty much knew it was going to be 5 or 6 games where he would struggle after being out that long. He’s forcing too many shots right now, though. Have to get your legs back and get use to the pace and intensity of real games. By the time he’s ready, Zion will need a handful of games to get his legs. Just seems to never end.

This is what happens when you refuse to do anything until you’re “100%” , then come back and try to prove to everyone that you’re the “leader” and take some of the dumbest shots and make the dumbest passes I've ever seen. Also seen a few times in the game he didn’t even try tk jump for a rebound, he just looked at the Denver player as they jumped and grabbed it

He's never struggled returning from previous injuries.

I'm going the other way. Not just the raw numbers, but watching him play the last 3 games, I don't think he looks right at all. It looks like a complete lack of effort, but I think it's more so or I'm at least questioning if he just can't really go full on.

He was never a guy like Jose or Naji who is going to go balls to the wall all the time, but he looks slower and jsut legit never trying to run full speed, not attacking the rim like he used to.

I hope you're correct and it's just getting back into it, but I have a hunch based on how well he's played coming back from previous injury, his stats, and just watching him that he's not right and I'm wondering if he will ever be right for the rest of the season.

That's my doom and gloom post for the day.

BI is (normally) money from 15 foot and can drive with the best of them, which makes him deadly. I agree with you that he seemed to settle too much from mid-range last night without looking like he had any interest in getting to the rim.

The one time he went in hard again Joker and took that fall I thought that was it for him.

Maybe in the past there was an actual benefit to BI waiting as long as possible to return from injuries, basically no rust.

This time it's different, but why?

This is it. As our previous head coach said last night, we are a playoff team. And, I'll agree...no one wants to play this (healthy) Pelicans squad in a 7-games series.

BI always starts out slow after coming back from injury. It sucks, but we knew this was coming for 5ish games.

See the link i posted above, it's the complete opposite as BI comes out playing very well immediately when he returns from injury.

Says the guy who thinks BI "looked great" last night.

Take a lap, you're out of your league right now.
