Shel, this is where your logic always falls apart, basketball is a team game
The Pels are the equivalent of a 48 win team with Zion and no BI, the equivalent of a 36 win team this season with BI and no Zion and were actually a 36 win team all last season with BI and no Zion, and it's due to a bunch of reasons that and none of those reasons are that Zion is simply better than BI?

I don't follow your logic here.

I’m using 4 seasons as the Pels. The starting point for both in New Orleans. As he’s added strength and avoided blood clot issues Ingrams has been more available.

Not surprised, but still hopeful.

In fairness, insinuating that the difference in record is NOT due to Zion simply being better than BI isn't terribly logical, so I'm not sure how you'd expect me to follow your logic if it's illogical.

Zion is more physically more talented not more skilled.

You see, this is what I'm referring to. Your statement above immediately negates your argument. It is a team game that is played over the course of an 82-game schedule, that's not complete. You're attributing wins to one person as if the other 14 team members were no factor (wins or losses) and then make blanket statements.

For example, BI is playing lights out for sure but arguably TM3's ascent and Herb's stellar defense are just as much if not more, a factor in the uptick in team play. Similarly, in the 10-game run during the first half of the season, CJ and Jose were playing lights out (CJ multiple 30-point games and 1 40-burger, Jose all up in CPs head), which certainly did not have anything to do with the wins.

Astute observers on this board have pointed out several factors, such as not having a suitable replacement for Zion at the 4 fly over your head, but most assuredly are factors in their record. The unavailability of both your key players for stretches at the same time could not have lingering effects because as soon as one said player comes back a light switch should magically take effect right? My guy, you can certainly be a prisoner of your narrative but your views are definitely not absolute like you are posturing.

This, of course, is a completely disingenuous take because it reflects what we were when we didn’t have CJ and Larry and Jose had yet to emerge and Trey was pretty much a non factor. (what did we start 3-18??). So if you take away that start they were 33-28 when BI had some talent around him.

Brandon Ingram is a top 15 player and a bonafide superstar. Man is only 25 and carrying us to the playoffs. He’s not going anywhere, end of story. I’m very biased but truly believe we have our own unique version of Shaq and Kobe, if we could just get them healthy and on the floor together, it’ll be something special

I didn't mention physical talent or skill in what you quoted, so not sure what you're trying to say.

I said Zion is the better player because Zion is clearly the better player. There's a shite ton of data points to point to to show this, one being our record with Zion and no BI be BI and no Zion.

Zion is better than BI, it's not close.

No amount of wordy posts will show much of any evidence to support a BI is better than Zion argument, because he's not.

You 2 fellas are making this wayyyyyy more difficult than it should be. One of player is clearly better than the other, for the sake of this specific part of this discussion, that's it. He's better, and that's ok.

If you take away the losses, you have meir wins, yes.

Last season we were 36-46 without Zion. That's not "completely disingenuous" it is what we literally were.

Disingenuous is saying if you don't count the worst part of the season and pretend it never happened, we were pretty good.

OK, ill try to make it simple. Your entitled to your own opinion you are not entitled to your own facts.

* Pels were .440 last year w/o Zion, they were .430 the year before with Zion, so by your logic Pels were better w/o Zion …. GTFOH

No, as I said, disingenuous is acting like what Zion did with CJ, Larry, a contributing Jose and a contributing Trey is equivalent to what BI had to do without any of that. But you know that. Only a complete idiot wouldn’t. You’re not that, you just can’t admit when you’re wrong, which you are here. It’s who you are. Everybody here knows it.

He’s also far more injury prone. Which means he’s a worse investment. And that’s okay.

Zion is better than BI, not much more to it. You can disagree, you'll be wrong. Again, that's ok. But it's painfully obvious that Zion is much better than BI.
