Pelicans' Brandon Ingram has suffered a bone contusion in his left knee. Fortunate diagnosis for New Orleans and its star forward avoiding serious injury, but Ingram is expected to miss at least two weeks.

Brandon Ingram underwent an MRI after
hyperextending his left knee during the third quarter of last night’s game against the Orlando Magic.

The results of the MRI revealed a left knee bone contusion.

Ingram will be re-evaluated in two weeks
and additional updates will be appropriately provided

Wow turned out to be the best case scenario. A bruise. Wow.

Much better diagnosis then what it looked like. I thought hyperextension at the least when I saw it

I'd probably expect 3-4 weeks. Depending on the standings, he might not be back until the first round.

I'm crying tears of joy rn. An acl would be catastrophic for this team. Especially in the long run

Yes, we have had guys miss at least that long with a bone bruise. They can linger awhile, and I think BI himself has missed a few weeks with one.

Still best case scenario.

Check out this tweet from the team. Have they ever given this much detail?

Yeah the pelicans tweet had the infamous wording of reevaluation in 2 weeks

That would be insane best case scenario, but likely a bit longer.

It’s basically can he practice? I do think playoff pressure and payday coming up will make BI come back for playoffs if not a bit before.

Absolutely. We all feared the worst based on his reaction and then getting carried off. This news backs me off the ledge a bit

Well Dyson it appears Dyson should be available very soon so that would help.

Trey came back more or less on time IIRC. Dyson looks ahead of schedule. Props to Amy Atmore and thanks for finally hiring a physical therapist Griff?

Defensively yes but I really hope Willie uses Hawkins/Ryan for the offense we’ll be missing from BI being gone.
