a good 10 minutes on LeBron asking for a trade on Open Floor today. all speculation/thought experiment, but it makes some sense for LeBron (and the Cavs a little too) to be thinking about it.
highly highly doubt it happens

It'd have to be a trade to a team like the Rockets.

They'd want something in the way of an asset in return, so why not just do it in free agency so you don't lose that asset when he's on the team next season?

The fact that Broussard and Skip didn’t instantly shoot down that NOLA thought is interesting. I don’t think there’s a chance in hell, but it’s fun to see us mentioned with Lebron at all. Who would have ever thought that would be happening?

Cause it’s going to be damn hard to fit Bron at a max contract under the cap I’d presume.

what would be really interesting is if we end up playing the Warriors in the playoffs, which if we do i would hope is b/c we were the 5 seed and we beat the 4 seed, and not b/c we are the 8 seed, but anyways, if we play the Warriors and actually give them a lot of trouble with our twin towers. That would be a start to the national people starting to actually believe that we are the start of something maybe special, that just needs one more piece.

this is Golliver's thought experiment, so it's nothing more than speculation and i'm paraphrasing here. you can go listen to him during the first 15 minutes or so go long on this idea.
for LeBron- the Cavs are likely drawing dead v GS. LeBron is in catch MJ mode. losing another Finals doesn't help that case. he can force a trade a la Kyrie to a team that might have a shot at beating the Warriors and reclaim the league spotlight.
for the Cavs- if they dont think LeBron is staying, they can at least get something for him. yes, probably have to take on some bad contracts for matching purposes, but get plenty of picks. there is no way to get equal value for LeBron, but something is better than nothing
then they can then move Love, IT, whomever and set themselves up to start a rebuild. + Gilbert gets to go all in on the LeBron hate once more.
this was Golliver spitballing, just like his Banana Boat to San Antonio theory this summer. it's an interesting, fun listen. it's most likely not going to happen.

nevermind Lebron guys, but where can we find that serviceable 3!!!
Serviceable, not LeBron fricking James, guy. What our team needs is an above average PG and a serviceable 3.

Because we obviously have the assets and or cap room to accomplish that. While we are at it, maybe we can fly to the moon and practice against the monstars too.
LeBron James isn't coming to NOLA. Diallo, Ajinca, maybe Jackson, and our 1 could potentially net us a PG. Stretching Asik could give us the room to potentially sign a serviceable 3. There are an amalgam of ways we can accomplish those moves. Outside of Jesus Christ speaking to LeBron about the virtues of NOLA, it ain't happening.

Asik is basically an expiring this off season. Not point in stretching him. He will have some value.

I'm not saying we should stretch him. I'm saying we could stretch him and free up dollars for someone like Ariza. It's possible. Signing LeBron is virtually impossible.

Lebron can’t afford to buy a NBA franchise WTF

He wish he had the money Tom Benson does. Don’t get me wrong he’s rich as shite. He ain’t franchise owner rich though.
