Thank you, drive thru.

And you avoided answering my challenge to that nonsense
Unless you want to tell me who Adams replaces in this list(in no particular order):
Nikola Jokic
Joel Embiid
Rudy Gobert
Bam Adebayo
Karl Anthony Towns
I’d add, off the top of my head, players I think almost anyone would rank higher:
Domantas Sabonis
Kristaps Porzingas
Nikola Vucevic
Deandre Ayton
Lamarcus Aldridge
Myles Turner
Andre Drummond
Adams is fine but I don’t know why people are insisting on pretending the guy is far better than he is. Sounds like a recipe for disappointment. Guy has his strengths and limitations, a very good traditional old school center but being in that mold is going to frustrate at times as well. Like what happened in his last two playoff experiences. Where teams with good guards or teams able to go small competently will exploit his slower foot speed.

I'll take who's never watched Adams play for $500 Alex

So you think we should play our top 5 NBA center only 20 minutes per night?

What is KAT better at?
He shoots the 3, THAT'S IT.
I get the infatuation with players that hit 3's, but KAT does nothing else at an elite level other than that.

You're going out of your way to avoid that other thing I've said... 3 times now.

That’s your top 5 center?
Again, guy is fine for what he is but you all are in something with this nonsense.
So who in that list is he better than(top 5 list in particular) and please back it up.

Does this sound the someone talking about a top 5 center?
quote:
I mean, we could do worse..
He would be a guy that can give us 20 minutes a game until Zion takes over at the 5 for crunch time..
If we dont give up anything of value (talking like Hill and Moore for Adams), then sure..
His deal is expiring next season, so not like it's a long term thing
We could do worse, at least it's not long term, 20 minutes a night, can't finish games, only wants him if we give up literally nothing of value... But top 5!!!!

And yes, he will play 20-25 minutes a night for us, that's all we need. Hayes will get 12-18 minutes, and the rest of the minutes at the 5 will be soaked up by Melli and Zion.
It was already answered. Keep up son

Pure centers are going the way of the dodo bird. Houston went small with PJ who any 7'er in the NBA will have trouble keeping up with. Just like we destroyed Gobert last season putting Zion at the 5.

Already stated, Bam is not a pure center. And he's better than KAT. Better rebounder, better defender, better screener, better rim protector. KAT shoots the 3, that doesn't make him better.

Add in the fact, basically what we gave up is what the equivalent value of Moore and Hill were last off-season, so, pretty much nailed it.
Where do you get the value given up is "nailing" that he's a top 5 C? You're on a completely different topic.

Yes we could do worse, see Favors, Derrick.

Sorry, cant respect your basketball opinion if you think Steven adams is coming here to play 20 mins a game.
At MINIMUM he'll get 25 a night. Dude might legit play 30 for us.

Nah. The poster on page 1 said picking Adams, he could play 20 minutes a night and basically said he had little value. Then in another thread, and now this thread, he also says Adams is a top 5 center.
Gotcha. I was confused because earlier I saw you say you liked Adams.
Posted on 11/26/20 at 7:33 pm to bonethug0180
He might play more than 25, the only way that happens though is if Hayes just isn't ready for any kind of significant role.
Posted on 11/26/20 at 7:37 pm to Soggymoss
People forget that even during peak-GSW, they still played a traditional center 30-something minutes a game. The death line-up wasn't their standard set.
You need someone who can defend the giannis/AD/Bam in the post

We didn't trade for and extend Adams to share time with Pogo Stick. Hayes will get some minutes, but it won't be a lot. We're not going to see a near 50/50 split between them, and I see Melli playing a lot more 4 and 3 than 5 this year.
Edit:
And by that I mean I see Melli mostly at the 4 this year. He played the 5 out of necessity last year. But I can see him getting more time at the 3 behind Ingram then at the 5 behind Adams.

Exactly. Yes in the playoffs teams shy away and go more towards small ball, but in season you need that big man to win games.
