Based on this franchise’s history and half this board, draft picks past 14 are supposedly worthless.

There were plenty of people on here that considered Jrue for Bledsoe a wash, not even counting the picks. It was crazy how bad some people wanted Jrue gone.

My guess is Bled isn’t going anywhere unless it’s part of some monster trade, which doesn’t seem possible right now.

He’s not gonna take a buyout and he probably won’t be moveable next season either.

Best hope is Kira has a strong offseason and Bled is moved to the bench where maybe in a limited role against backups he can trick some team into thinking he still has utility.

That’s a safe bet. It’s unlikely anyone would want him. Maybe at the deadline next year.

He seems to make unforced errors and shows a lack of effort sometimes and he is still a starter. What happened when is tile is further reduced.

Did we have to take him back in the jrue trade to make the money work?

I'm guessing yes, but was there no other way to make the money work.

Worst case scenario he turns into an expiring that we can’t use, best case is that maybe he realizes he could be out of the league if he doesn’t step up because a 32 year undersized guard playing like shite can eventually just be mistaken for someone that is just shite.

Many people did compare him to jrue.

"He is almost a mini jrue".

I went at it with multiple people on here trying to tell people that jrue and Bledsoe are not a wash. I’m not going to waste my time going back through posting history but there are a bunch of you and you know who you are.

I didn’t think it was a wash but I had no idea how vast the gap was. I just looked at stats. Never actually watched Bledsoe.

I’d even add a pick to get rid of him
Why?

He basically is an expiring at the end of the season, and expirings have value regardless of who the player is.

He got those defensive awards because all he did was funnel guys to Giannis and Lopez, two elite defenders.

He is awful.
I mean, he was never better than Jrue like the All Defense wards suggested, but he certainly was a good defender.

He is awful now, and I think it's virtually all effort. I think a contending team should consider him because I do believe they'd get much more of last season or 2 Bledsoe and not shitty Pels Bledsoe.

He isn't though, a team will still owe him 4 mill the following year, and with a reduction in cap and how horrifically bad he is, a team might not even be willing to do that.

Expirings have not had a whole lot of value under this new CBA either.

People basically said he was a good enough defender, and the difference between Bledsoe and Jrue wasn't enough to make up for all of the picks we got for Jrue.

The difference was massive.
It certainly is, but you still do that deal every time given where we were as a team and the return we got.

People to this very day still do not accept that Griff made it abundantly clear with the Jrue trade( and some subsequent media interviews) that we as a franchise do not believe our window is this season. That this is year one of the Zion era with this being step one.

Right or wrong Griff believes that for long-term
development you can’t just tank or gift young guys minutes without them earning it and feeling it needs to be earned, but too many people take that philosophy to mean this team is trying to win now, and continue to treat every win and loss like it’s life and death for this franchise.

If people could just accept the context of this team and what this season actually is they, plus this site, would probably be a lot more tolerable.

I think many thought he was making it clear, but then chose to keep Bledsoe and trade future assets for Adams. While I could understand possibly keeping Bledsoe if we did not trade for Adams due to limited options to dump him, I do not understand why we did not make OKC take him in the Adams deal. There is no way OKC would have refused given they were getting assets for Adams that no one else would have given them.

How about this?

Bledsoe to Dallas for James Johnson and Tyler Bey.
would need to give Bey or Naji an actual contract and get one off the 2-way.
I think Dallas would be interested in him, but i would think they would want to go into this offseason with more cap space so they can go after a big fish, and that trade would kind of damper that.
