Jesus Christ bro. It’s a hypothetical. I don’t actually think Zion is a long-term Randle clone or a bad fit. I’m attempting to come at this from AD’s potential point of view based on his friendship with Randle and the fact that Zion is a rookie.

Somebody had a thread just the other day projecting Zion and I said

Year 1- Randle with additional defense and intangibles
Year 2- Prime Barkley
Year 3- Prime Lebron

And you are a complete arse if you think Zion is a nba level rim protector lol. He may get a few weakside and fast break blocks, but you are way off base to consider him as a legitimate nba rim protector.

And this whole Zion fit/projection thing isn’t even really what this thread is about. You are just going out of your way to be an arse and acting like you are some elite board level basketball savant for no reason lol.

Again I will phrase it like this. If we had won the 2nd pick instead of the 1st would people still think resigning AD to a max is best case scenario?

In your dumb arse post, did you at least consider that if we were to want Ja we would still draft Zion and trade him for Ja and picks players?

We’re not just going to take a shittier player even if a better fit and not leverage something in return. Anyway, the overall post was really really dumb, but thought that other stupid aspect of your thought process not seeing this made it even dumber.

People have been mad slurping the AD max extension angle and I just wanted to see if Ja instead of Zion changed people’s thought process.

Also, if AD’s camp leaked this I’m pretty sure Memphis wouldn’t scramble over themselves to trade assets for a player that would drop right to them if the Pels valued Ja and Extended AD over Zion and No AD.

People taking are taking way too seriously. Sure this exact hypothetical isn’t gonna happen. I just wanted to see where people’s heads truly are at in regards to an AD extension. Absolutely nobody wanted AD’s arse 2 months ago, but after we won the lotto people started reversing course and I wanted to know if they would still be reversing course if we had won Ja.

Since we’re giving hypothetical proposals.....How about we just trade AD to the Grizzlies and draft Zion and Ja in consecutive picks?

Pretty much this. Work out some three-way deal in which the Pels deal AD to New York, Memphis gets the #3 and whatever, and Pels get the #2. Draft Morant... then tell AD he is free to sign with the Pels after 2020 if he wants to play with Ja so much.

Let’s say that AD meets with David Griffin and agrees to sign the supermax right now, but under 1 condition. The condition being, the Pels draft Ja Morant Number 1 instead of Zion.
Didn't read through the thread, but I'd be shocked if even 1 person would be ok with this.

But since I did actually read it, tell AD to frick himself, trade him, and draft Zion.

You are a fricking moron if you think zion isnt a dominant nba rim protector. Wow, just wow.

News flash. Zion isnt a transcendent prospect for nothing. He IS the quintessential small ball big in todays NBA, he does it all. Dude, go sit down.

You can keep trying to justify it but any attempt of a power play like this will hasten his arse out the door.

Many posts with this tone.
You pelGMs need to park your emotional baggage and evaluate the premise.

If you can keep Davis decide whether the team is better with Zion W or temetrius jamel morant.

Davis at ceiling=OMG Davis for 10 games. Really good Davis for 40, and the aforementioned 32 meh and rested Davis is what you get.
He's fragile and not top tier every time out but he's top ten or so on half the games. Top 5 for 10 or even 20.

Back to z vs ja.
Pels need ja more than they need Zion if Davis stays.
Randle looked pretty good

Still need a nice 3d but the rest is competitive.

If this could be settled day1 of free agency you might score a top 20 player at the 3.

And you could probably drop to 2 and dump hill.

If you try to milk Memphis and they are content with ja that should be a clue.

Why even have a GM and POBO if the franchise allows the players to make significant personnel decisions?

AD Meeting Hypothetical

Man, what a difference a month makes. AD was expected to walk into this meeting (If it was going to happen), with all of the leverage against a team desperate to have any high profile player on their team next year and the only way they were going to get one was by going through AD.

Lol AD would only say that for sabotage, and in turn would be traded immediately to Detroit or frickin Indiana just to prove a point

Not saying I’d listen, but star players seem to to have a lot of power in this league, especially compared to the other professional sports.

I should’ve just phrased the entire supermax AD scenario differently. Winning pick 2 instead of AD demanding the the Pels draft Ja instead of Zion would’ve been better. The way i phrased it simply pissed people off lol.
