Winning a title would still be a hell of a one off season.

I don't understand why everyone keeps using kawhi as a proof of teams taking chances on one year rentals.

Do you even have a clue of the boost in revenue that Toronto has added with that one year rental if the Raptors finish the deal & win the title?

If they win a championship and he leaves town immediately then it was well worth it...hell even if they somehow lose this series I’d say that FO would still be content with the move they made

Why is this Virginia LSU guy posting here and why is anyone replying to him?

He seems like one of those kids that thinks if he says shite the loudest that makes him right

You realize that if we trade with the Lakers we bail them out

Who cares? The goal is to get the best package. If that means AD winds up on the Lakers, oh well.

Yeah. The trade paid off. No questions asked. Then he goes to the clips this off season. Next year the raptors making the ECF? I'd say no. A one year run is great. But can't keep it up those loyal and devoted fans will start falling off again. But hey. At least that one banner will be hanging from the rafters.

This has to be the dumbest logic I’ve ever seen.

I’ve seen dumber. Like all the “Lakers have all the leverage, so they can cut their offer down” claims.

So then would you trade AD for LeBron straight up. Even a aging LeBron could carry Zion and Jrue to the finals for the next 2 seasons.

You're talking as if the raptors were irrelevant and this came out of nowhere, they made the ECF 2 years ago and have been consistently at 50+ wins.

They were nowhere near the bottom in attendance even in their crappier years

No my point isn't what they accomplished before the trade. It's how far they will fall after kawhi leaves.

The analogy is pretty terrible; the situations could not be more incomparable between us right now and the raptors last year.

So no, if I don't have a fantastic team that just cant clear the last hurdle and I have 2 stars with an opportunity to turn one of them into a top 5 player; I would not trade AD for Lebron (assuming you are making AD derozan, and lebron into kawhi in this scenario which makes no sense as well).

And is Paul George really even a success story for okc? They took a chance and sold him on the team and what happened? He re signed and they get 1st round exit and no signs of improvement for next season
