Durant and Irving want a sure thing.
regardless of how that reflects on them, they’ve made that pretty clear.

Davis added to them is as close as it gets other than GSW

you trade zion for Davis every time

Playoffs will be huge for where players go, especially in the East. 2 of those 4 teams are bowing out in the 2nd round, at best. That would be a disaster in all 4 cities and could mean massive changes

Isnt Durant like 30, 31 and Kyrie late 20's? Y would you want to wait 4-5 years for a 19-20 year old to hit his peak. And that's only if he matches up to the hype, when you can play with the best 4 in the game right now that is just starting his peak years and will be at that level for the next 4-5 years. That's y u trade Zion for AD. If no fa's jump to them, then yea you keep Zion and build slowly.

This is the problem. Its not a fact or a certainty. People on here believe it and it might be most probable, so they shut down all discussion. The odds are totally against the Knicks even getting the 1st pick, so it's probably not even worth debating. But people are undervaluing that pick and the player. I just don't think that is going happen..

They are the worst team in the league. They have probably the best chance, which is why people should be debating about this.

You might be undervaluing the pick, but no one else is

It’s very much like the LeBron/Love/Wiggins situation. Wiggins had a lot of hype, but LBJ wanted to win now and wanted spacing. Just looked at some old articles before Cleveland won the championship and there was a lot of debate on if it was the right move or not.

If KD is NYK bound, he wants to play with Davis, not Zion.

New lottery format means flattened odds for the bottom 4-5 teams, meaning the Knicks have about a 12% chance at the top pick.

14%. The bottom 3 all have equal chances-

Here's an article suggesting an AD/KD/Kyrie team up not in New York, but in Boston.

quote:

If we're in the era of true super teams, why do we assume that Boston would stop at "only" Irving and Davis? If Durant and Irving have a long-standing desire to play together, why would they settle for doing it with a skeleton crew of teammates in New York?

League sources have told me that KD has expressed interest in joining the Celtics.

If you take a step back, that shouldn't be a shock. It's generally believed that the Celtics were Durant's second choice in 2016 and more than a few observers feel that had the Warriors won the '16 title Durant would be a Celtic now. The Celtics would obviously be amenable to this too; Durant has long been the apple of Ainge's eye.

If KD and Kyrie really do want to team up, why would they shackle themselves to James Dolan when an alternative exists?

LINK

It goes on to suggest KD opts in to his contract and forces a trade like Chris Paul did to get to Houston. Boston can't sign KD so the threat would be get Horford or Hayward in exchange for KD or watch KD walk and form a superteam in the West. Horford is still playing very well so I could see them taking Horford rather than see KD walking.

Besides the warriors(who haven't been perfect) this season seems to be the most balanced in quite some time

You have the top 4-5 in the east on a fairly similar level

Denver/OKC/HOU/Jazz etc in the west

It would sure be interesting.

My prediction is Horford, a young player, and maybe a 1st for KD so that GSW gets some assets and not completely trade raped.

Having Durant means “win now”, making Tatum more likely to move to NOLA as part of a Davis trade. And having Durant means Davis and Kyrie both likely re-sign.

This would be just a brilliant move by the Warriors. If Durant and Cousins leave, but Thompson resigns, they don't have any space to sign anybody. Getting Horford, Brown and a draft pick at least somewhat fills those roles and keeps them near the top for at least a couple of more seasons. I don't know if there is any real truth to this rumor. But it's pretty interesting if so..

That may have been true then. He was looking to get out. Now he is saying the two teams he will re-sign with is the Lakers and Knicks.

He is being honest now. Was also honest then.

The Pelicans wanted to hear the Celtics offers and they still can. That doesn’t prevent Davis from saying he will not re-sign with them.

The people who think Davis and Paul is powerless in this are idiots.

He's not being honest, he's letting Rich Paul speak for him. There's a reason we went from Lakers/Knicks/Nets/Clippers/Bucks down to Lakers/Knicks. Those are the only 2 on the list with clown show management that Rich Paul and Klutch can bully. This isn't AD being honest, this AD letting Klutch continue to make him look bad.

People who think LA is the only option are idiots. All it takes is 1 GM (Ainge) in this case to call their bluff.

Now, AD may end up in LA at some point. But the Pels would have gotten what they want so who cares.

they aren’t powerless but they have way less influence than they think given the circumstances

It’ll be very difficult for the Lakers to sign AD next summer, kawhi & pg13 have given examples of players that might stay where they were traded, Garnett said he wouldn’t resign in Boston and we know how that turned out, plus KD won’t play next season so the field is wide open >>>>>> “I’ll only resign with the lakers”
