A smart GM should trade for Zion to cut him and get under the tax threshold

Due to his contract, I would expect he has more trade value than we think. There are currently 14 teams that are above the tax threshold. I could see a team like Cleveland, Golden State, Boston, Phoneix or Philly looking to do so. If he comes in and plays gangbusters, keep him. If he continues to be a fricking worthless fat piece of shite, cut him and reap the tax savings.

I think Zion the player has almost no value. Zion the asset, however, is incredibly interesting. For all that Griff fricked up, this contract could have been WAY worse. I assume it was Zion's Mom that acted as his agent, because no real agent would allow him to sign this type of contract. What a fricking clown

Master P representing Rickey Williams in his rookie contract was pretty comical as well.
IMO getting screwed over like that by a rapper (wanna be sports legend ) really caused Williams mental illness to boil over.

That’s not how it works.
His contract for this year is guaranteed now. If he’s cut, you still owe him the full amount for this year, you just don’t owe him anything after that.
Even in the offseason a team can’t trade for him and then cut him. When you make a trade matching salaries for someone whose contract isn’t fully guaranteed, the trade basically makes that contract guaranteed. They made this rule to prevent exactly what you’re talking about so tax teams can’t be bailed out.

For sure, Master P wasn't an issue. Ricky just ahead of his time

My money is on being a fat worthless piece of shite. We’ve paid that fat frick $500M. Think about that.

I’d use Zion’s contract to take back a bad contract for picks. Like could we trade Zion and Hawk for Paul George and picks?
Philly gets out of PG’s contract and sees if there’s any life left in Zion.
I would try and do the same thing next year when Poole is expiring, try to take a bad contract back for picks
