frick their feelings and frick Stephen A. Smith’s incoming take regarding this being a slight of black men by black men caused by hundreds of years of slavery and resentment of LeBron’s greatness.

Paul called him Jose Avocado in a presser last year in the playoffs. My bet is that Jose has held a grudge ever since

This Pels vs Suns is officially a rivalry. It has so many organic rivalry storylines:

-future HOFer Paul vs upstart UDFA Jose "Avocado"
-Suns (barely) eliminated the SONS in last playoffs
-currently both teams battling for conference supremacy
-Monty (teacher) vs Willie (student)
-Zion breaking "the code"
-add on the upcoming fight/ejection(s) on Sunday after someone flagrant-2 fouls Zion

I really want Jose to wear a shirt with an Avocado on it showing up to the SKC on Sunday!

Also

I grew up in Baton Rouge and went to New Orleans for college then stayed for 20 years. My first real job was at the royal orleans in the catering department...I was a 22 yr old white kid working with a few dozen older black dudes.

It was the first time I ever heard the phrase “don’t start nothing, won’t be nothing”

Maybe it's just me, but I imagine Jose was more upset about getting kicked in the nuts.

I would agree, the nuts hurt way more than a mispronounced name.
