Zero games missed has to be his most impressive stat.

I think everyone on this board agrees that JV is a very talented player and is invaluable against certain matchups. My complaint is simply that he doesn't fit well in our starting lineup or on the floor with Zion. If we want to be a contending team, we can't be that with a starting group that has a negative net rating as a group. Now, maybe we end up trading BI or CJ or fixing the problem some other way, but it's no use pretending that the problem doesn't exist.

He was terrible last year. Hes been great this year. He’s always been an excellent guy. It will still be nice to have a more athletic rim protector to compliment JV.

Imagine thinking that people believe Jonas is a bad regular season center.

Jonas isn't our problem.

Please for the love of God go get Dejounte if he's available and let's see this thing through.

It’s not as much of a problem as you suggest.

In order for things to fit around Zion, Zion has to be fit.

When the game becomes more defensively focused in the playoffs, and matchups are exploited every trip down the court, it will matter.

Zion is in for a rude awakening whenever he makes his first playoff appearance.

Opposing defenses are going to key on him even harder and opposing offenses are going to hunt for him on defense even more.

So which center does fit? That’s what I do not understand about the trade JV crowd.

They already put 3 guys in front of him. You won't see much difference in a playoff setting in how he's guarded.

heres the number one defense trying to stop zion

On defense yes, he'll be hunted, but he's slowly getting up to an average level of that too.

I don't know why Zion does so well against Gobert and teh #1 defense Wolves, but he's been takign it to Gobert since the first time he played him in the preseason his rookie year. I do'nt know what it is about that matchup, but it's like Zion is determined to score at will on Gobert.

I keep asking the question, what is our issue at the 5, and who is the upgrade to trade for?
Everytime i think of trading for someone i think, well that guy is a huge dropoff offensively from JV, and is he really any better at defending than Larry?
Jarrett Allen really is the only answer, outside of rookies that aren't going to be moved like Kessler/Duren/Williams.

And to be honest, i'd rather trade Larry for Jarrett Allen than JV, and use JV as our 6th man offensive spark off the bench to play through when Zion isn't in the game mainly. JA is an upgrade defensively to Larry.
But that kind of trade would make us a tax team (Larry/Dyson for JA), just barely, and definitely make us one next year if we resigned JV and Naji, so i doubt they want to start the tax this year, although i'm with Shell and say frick it, it's not my money, and that old bird is rich as frick.

Zion, Zion has to be fit.

And he has to add a 3pt shot to his game. Outside of his conditioning it's his biggest sin

Val immediately becomes a near perfect 5 for us if that happens.
