Darvin Ham says he was been going with LeBron, AD, Russ, Nunn and Damian Jones in the first unit thus far in camp

That team is getting smoked

With a bench rotation of Patrick Beverly, Lonnie Walker, Dennis Schroeder, Austin reeves and wenyen gabriel.

Their bench is 4 guards who can’t shoot and wenyen Gabriel.

AD is always injured playing the 4, imagine if he played the 5 all the time and had to go against Val, Adams, Embiid, Gobert etc every night

The Lakers 'seriously considered' sending Russell Westbrook and their two unprotected first-round picks (2027 and 2029) to the Pacers for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield, per @ShamsCharania, @jovanbuha and @sam_amick

Rob Pelinka chose to "remain patient" to see how L.A. jells

LOL. In other words, LeBron almost forced Pelinka to do the deal, but Pelinka won for now.

After the Lakers stumble to a poor record early in the season, Pelinka and Buss will say that sacrificing two more picks would only be worth it if they could contend, and the record is too poor to indicate that.

So, the only way that this deal (or a similar one) gets done is if Westbrook gets sidelined but LeBron % Co. still manage, at the trade deadline, to have a record in the top 6 in the West.

While Pelinka has been given the ultimate power to make these decisions, sources say there was a desire for the entire group to come to a consensus. It appears the voices of Joey and Jesse Buss are being considered among Lakers leaders now more than ever. If they were going to gamble on a make-or-break move of this magnitude, the thinking went, then everyone had to have confidence in the same vision. But when that wasn’t the case, sources say, the choice was made by Pelinka to remain patient and see, yet again, if Westbrook might find a way to make this imperfect fit with the Lakers work.

I would not be surprised to see Pelinka ship off the two-first rounders in a trade. He probably won't be around when the time comes due to send off the picks anyway.

I don’t see Pelinka or the Buss family hurrying to make that trade considering that could have had Hield last year, most likely for less than they gave up for Westbrook, and possibly kept Alex Caruso in the bargain.

The Lakers won't be nearly as terrible as anyone here thinks...

That said, I'd love to draw them as the 3v6 seed

if the do it, they will have traded the following for heild & turner

A potential deal would’ve meant that the Lakers in effect would have traded Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the chance to re-sign Alex Caruso and three first-round picks for Turner and Hield, when taking into account the totality of the original Westbrook trade.

They won’t be at the bottom of the west simply because San Antonio and Utah are playing “hold my beer”.

Their big problem is that pretty much every other team in the west, give or take OKC and Houston, is looking to make a run. If they start off with a rough patch, they won’t get much relief until they play Utah twice about 10 games in.

schröder hasn't reported to camp.
what's that about?

I must celebrate Davis taking the conservative approach on his back. wise.
may he sit out 30 games.
enjoy 10th place and a must win play in road game.

personally I'm astonished anyone could play 80 or 90 full court basket ball games. I played. smacked in face when someone went for ball. sprained ankle coming down on someone's foot. hit 6 jumpers in a row and someone kicked me while I was in the air.
another year I dominated a game and someone kneed me in the nuts when I brought down a rebound. I see all that in the pros too.

Lebron couldn’t stay in front of Trey Lyles. Got blown by multiple times.

Lebron is still going to be an elite scorer and facilitator, and effect a lot of games with his presence. But his days of even trying to play any defense whatsoever are over.

He will be a negative on that end that they will need to cover up.

Do Preseason Technicals count towards your suspension total?

AD got one being a fake tough guy last night

Why play any type of real defense during pre-season?

Pre-season is usually just an extension of "open run"... guys are looking to just run out there and get loose. Nothing more than that.

Practices are more strenuous than pre-season games.
