Read the CBA, moron.
They closed the loophole of players getting traded, getting bought out, then returning to their old team after 30 days.
The Jason Kidd trade between the Nets and Mavs helped close that one between a buyout guy returning to the Mavs and the Mavs signing a guy who had been retired for years to serve as trade ballast to make the numbers workZ

18-23 PPG - Takes 16 to 20 shots to get those pts
44% FG - See above
30% 3PM - No world where he should be taking 3 to 5 of these a game, yet still he persists..
7-10 RBPG - Hou and LAL have shown how empty some of that is when the team isn't funneling easy rebounds to Russ, his Contested Rebound percentage(the boards that actually tell you what kind of quality rebounder someone is) is still great for guards, but you can get the same rebounding productivity out a Josh Hart or Kenny Hustle, and not pay 44 million.
7-10 ASTPG half offset with the 4-5 TOV per game, one of the worst TOV percentages in the league
1-2 STPG - Offset by his terrible activity on and off the ball the rest of a defensive possession.

he can still be that
Unfortunately, yeah he can

I guess if your organizational goal is to be good enough to hurt your lottery chances and bad enough to go anywhere in the playoffs, sure.

Minus AD because we were not going to give him away. so that roster would’ve been different from top to bottom
We would have no control over what AD did if he waited to be an UFA another season.
And if he blessed a S&T it would have been for a significantly smaller return.
Lakers took the short view when a dynasty was within grasp.
Lakers fans seem happy, and I'm certainly happy despite the underlying BS that drove it, so they can use that as comfort at LeGm tears down what little future assets they have and hand lottery picks to the Pels.

Correct.
That is what he is. Period and point blank.
He had those 2 flash in the pan years. Got paid off 1 of them right? and now that contract is still with him.
That is what occurs in sports, thats why guys work for that big contract as if it may be there last (injuries, drop off etc..)
So props to him for chasing his trip dub crap... is what it is.
He is a vet min player... and thats what he will get after this 47 mil

What, that you stick around a Pelicans forum talking shite and pretending that the Lakers are going to even make the play in this year with Russ on the roster, ignoring that they couldn’t win a lot of the games they played last year with all three guys on the court?
Go back to replacing Windhorst as the guy massaging LeBron’s balls when AD is busy.

I think Westbrook has that AI in him(and not in a good way) he will retire before accepting a bench role or admitting he can't be a 15 attempts a game high usage guard.

but if all 3 are healthy
Could be wrong, but weren’t they a .500 team when all 3 were healthy and that was against mostly bad teams.
Pels dispatched them pretty easily after just acquiring CJ and Ingram coming off a significant injury with no Zion lol. And u think they were gonna make noise pkaying 70+ games together. Laughable.

Yes, they could have set themselves up to win five straight. That's the tragedy for Lakers fans. They could've set themselves apart and cemented the Lakers as the greatest franchise in the history of the NBA -- maybe even challenging the Yankees in the history of team sports.

Agree...
Didn't that happen to him in Houston? Remember when teams wouldn't even go to the 3 line for him right? then he went frick off with ole Billy D in Wash and had a nice little run on a shite team?
He's got so much crap off the court that he's involved in.... I can def see him throwing up the deuces and rolling.. makes sense in todays NBA when a League MVP whos really just an ATHLETE on the basketball court can't keep up with the game that involves shooting 3s...
It happens.

If you want to discuss the lakers and their paths to success go find a lakers board or start a thread on the MSB

Facts are facts ....
Look at his career stats. I DID NOT say anything different.
Reading comprehension is tough around here aye

And you can basically pencil in that AD and Lebron will each miss 25 games a season.
The Lakers pretty much only won that chip cause Covid helped put a pause on the season and allow Lebron/AD to come into the bubble at full health.
The odds of that happening in a normal 82 game season seem close to zero. And the surrounding talent got a lot worse.

That we shall do
But to also throw some actual facts in there is pretty obtainable as well.... see it when its bad, see it when its good....
have to be able to handle it both right?
Think thats perfectly fine and thats what makes this board great

None of that has to do with the value that he is?
None of that means that he elevates those guys around him?
Look at the comment that you quoted. The fact that he wins a championship with each team has nothing to do with the fact that he leaves each team in shambles when he leaves. This is relevant, because the Lakers are torn between bending to an aging LeBron's whims and keeping future assets. He's already brought them one championship, it's unlikely they win another, why should they invest more future assets into this team?
