The Lakers pretty much only won that chip cause Covid helped put a pause on the season and allow Lebron/AD to come into the bubble at full health.

FACTS

went on record on one of these threads stating that if the Lakers were to win another championship it would ONLY BE BECAUSE OF AD.

Also went on record that AD would likely be on that team and not LeBron.....

but as we can see....AD continues to not live up to his potential.

Would be nice as a fan of basketball to see all these guys play healthy....but we havent gotten to see that in a few years.

Hopefully this is the year

Lakers fans still live in denial, but all the Lakers had to do to create a near insurmountable dynasty was to have 1 more season's worth of patience and let AD make his way in either a S&T or in FA.

Everything you said is true to a point. They tried this way before with Paul George, didn’t want to come off BI and their other assets to the Pacers, thought they could wait it out and sign him. He was an LA boy that would come home etc etc. And it blew up in their face.

We were trading AD regardless. They couldn’t chance it again, AD liking where we sent him and with Lebaby pushing hard they had to act.

just keep in mind that this is not a “let’s talk about the lakers and how they can succeed thread”...nobody here cares about that.

we want two more lakers lottery picks then I promise you they will never be spoken of again on this board. That is, until Davis demands a trade LOL

Look at the comment that you quoted. The fact that he wins a championship with each team has nothing to do with the fact that he leaves each team in shambles when he leaves. This is relevant, because the Lakers are torn between bending to an aging LeBron's whims and keeping future assets. He's already brought them one championship, it's unlikely they win another, why should they invest more future assets into this team?

Getting Kyrie would be the one swing factor, but increasingly it looks like both he and KD are either going to have to return to BRK with their tail between their legs or pull a Ben Simmons.

I think their cap space opens up next offseason, especially if Lebron plays ball with how they strategically sign players, but this looks like it will be another drama-filled season with how ugly it could get.

Well considering Lebron and AD essentially colluded, if both parties were smart, AD could have just waited and the team would be better positioned.

But regardless, Im glad the Lakers were thinking so panicky cause it allowed us to fleece them. Get a return no one thought possible at the time.

Griff wants them, but does not want to use them

If the Pels progress like we on this board hope.... they will move some of those assets and young depth for more Vet contributors to make a run at a chip....

Thats what we want correct?

Facts are facts ....

Look at his career stats. I DID NOT say anything different.

Reading comprehension is tough around here aye

You responded to a post and clearly insinuated the stats were proof he was good, but you know that.

Now you're trying to crawfish away from that. That's weak.

Trust me every Pels fan on here wants to see Westbrick on the Lakers next year. It’s our dream. The big 3 a year older and more injury prone. With the West being even more of a buzzsaw with the Pels, Clippers and Nuggets healthier. It’s gonna be quite the show.

NO

look at his stats!

I said anything other than the 2014 and 2016 season he has been what he has been

It's really not that difficult to understand

Repost from Page 22 (unedited FYI)

quote:

Westbrook btw, will do exactly what he has done for years on a team

35 min per game
18-23 PPG
44% FG
30% 3PM
7-10 RBPG
7-10 ASTPG
1-2 STPG

Play in 50+ Games...

HE IS NOT 2014 or 2016 RUSS.....

He is what his Avg is.... he can still be that and can still help a team. Even if he were to take a back seat and play a slightly reduced role from his AVGs, He needs to punch in as an Iggy style role and just defer to those around him for the betterment of the team.... I believe thats what he brings to ANY team this upcoming year..

Not hard to understand...

Stop clicking all of the "westbrick videos" or "my momma said videos"..

it's ok

Right, you were talking him up and now you're not.

You responded to me asking what happened the last time LAL let Lebron make the decision to bring on Westbrook, and you responded for me to "check the stats" rather clearly insinuating it wasn't the bad addition I was stating it was.

Westbrick still has a place in the league. Either as the ultimate tank commander on a team devoid of talent where he can get a triple double every night or for a winning team coming off the bench to run the 2nd team surrounded by shooters. Lakers are neither. And I don’t think he will ever accept the 2nd role.

So he probably needs to go play for Utah after they trade Spyder or the Spurs.

No.... its they knew exactly what they were getting into.

Many things played into what you saw from Russ last year....

but he also hasn't been far from that for his entire career..... difference was he was playing on one of the biggest stages in the basketball world, on the same team as the biggest player in the world..

so yes...the microscope of him putting up those numbers in LA vs putting them up in OKC or WASH is dramatically different...

OKC will suck, they are young.

I truly think that would be a great spot for him just to go back to and do his thing... atleast for the 2022-2023 season ....

its unlikely to happen but would be easy to sell tickets...because he's still beloved there.

his other option is exactly what it is in LA... and what Darvin Ham has said his role would be. It would be that for any other contending team he would go help to ring chase etc....

No, we need the picks to get cheap, high value players in the draft. We have a core of upper tier talent already with Zion, BI, and CJ. we need picks to add talented role players around then, and hopefully one of them hits on a guard that can eventually replace CJ.

Potentially Dyson is that guy, if his shot comes along.

He looked like crap, offensively. in the one Summer League game he played in but everyone was off that night because of how long the start was delayed due to the OKC game running long.

If Dyson develops and Herb progresses further than he did last season, you have a core of Dyson, Herb, BI, and Zion at the least.

Love what Dyson can bring,

His mom’s IG is an interesting follow… anyone know the story? In between thirst traps and supporting her kid…
