I would guess they are waiting for the Wizards or Bulls to stumble and go after Beal or DeRozan.

Beal or DeRozan.
They don't have the assets for either of them, even if they threw Mr. Glass in the trade.
AD and 2 future first in 5 years isn't enough to get Beal or DeRozan when there will be much better offers than that.
Maybe the Bulls would do it just for AD, but no way the Wizards would do that.

Might be crazy, but Kyrie and Durant to Lakers…
AD to Bulls
Westbrook, Lavine, Vuc and picks from both to Nets.
I would hate for LA to be bailed out like that though

The Nets aren't getting rid of Durant just to get Kyrie out.

LeBron James said that rest is the only thing that can help his left foot soreness but he’s not going to sit out for an extended period of time. He said he’s going to play tonight against the Clippers. His status for back-to-backs will be determined based on how he’s feeling.

Lakers next back-to-backs are two at San Antonio on Nov 25-26 (weird scheduling) and Dec 6-7 (at Cle, at Tor).

Why would the Bulls trade Lavine for Day to Davis..? To pair with Lonzo? Hahaha that’s almost as stupid as RJ saying Pels would 100% trade BI for Day to Davis, no ones making that same mistake for a future with a washed big made of glass

Is Derozan really what they need? Another mid range guy who can't shoot 3s?

The flu or whatever it is is still causing problems in the Lakers locker room.

Lonnie Walker IV (non-COVID illness) is out tonight, per the Lakers.

Jovan Buha has a "State of the Lakers" article up over at The Athletic.
A few interesting bits, along with my comments:
In other words, he's still scoring lots of points so that he can beat Kareem's record, but it's not winning basketball.
Someone please tell me again how Westbrook is the problem and getting rid of him will solve everything.
Very interesting that Buss and Pelinka haven't ruled it out. Basically, it seems that, if the Lakers can post a winning record in these next ten games (which should be easier than the first ten), then the big trade would be considered.
A few interesting bits, along with my comments:
quote:
On the surface, James’ per-game averages are impressive and largely in line with his career numbers: 24.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks per game. But his efficiency has tanked. Though James has typically shot worse in October and November as a Laker compared with the rest of the season, he’s never struggled to this level. James’ 21 percent 3-point mark is the lowest of his career. His 50.6 true shooting percentage is his lowest since he was a rookie. His free-throw percentage is the third-lowest of his career.
In other words, he's still scoring lots of points so that he can beat Kareem's record, but it's not winning basketball.

They have a minus-3.5 net rating with James and Davis but no Westbrook (205 minutes).
Someone please tell me again how Westbrook is the problem and getting rid of him will solve everything.

The Lakers’ plan is still to more formally revisit trade conversations with multiple teams near the 20-game mark of the season — unless the team’s record is so bad that trading Westbrook to improve this year’s roster isn’t worth it

Other than the 3-point shooting, seems to me Westbrook has been pretty good this year when I watch. Clearly one of their best four players.
