I agree generally. Unfortunately I really think both fit really well with what LA needs, and I keep crossing my fingers LA doesn't give in.

Not that it makes them a contender, but:

Bev/Nunn
Hield
Lebron
AD
Turner

6th Westbrook

Looks like an actually competent, and fairly complimentary unit.

Meh. How many games would that lineup even play together?

Turner and Day to Davis are walking injuries and Lebron will get nicked at some point.

Probably, but all I care about is maximizing draft picks.

That unit probably gives the Lakers enough fire power to at least make the play-in, maybe even the first round if you can get 60 games out of Lebron and 55 for AD.

Whereas AD/Lebron could play 75 games with the current squad and I doubt they win more than 20-25 games tops

How could you make this post with 7 players and not even include Lonnie Walker who is better than 5/7 players this year.

He'd be 7th man, and a good one to have under the hypothetical scenario

He’s played the 3rd most minutes on the team this year and has better averages than everyone except Lebron/ AD. He is legit their 3rd best player. He is better than Westbrook, Beverley, Nunn, and probably Hield. Won’t compare him to Turner because of the C need factor. But yeah he isn’t close to their 7th man.

If they get Hield/Turner he will be coming off the bench is the point, and the starting lineup becomes offensively functional while maintaining the defense. Which is what I was focusing on.

The point here is that the trade would improve the Lakers so I hope they dont do it.

He wouldn’t be frail had he done that.

True, it's still easily a net positive for the Lakers.

Which means they likely crawl out of the cellar, which means less lottery balls. Which means Im hoping against it

Richard Jefferson

he often offends me by not understanding whatever. I can't stand him as analyst although I could see being his friend. seems sincere. I think his in person qualities is why he has work. its not his scintillating intellect.

did Chicken pick you as one of the pels admins?

I don't think he'll retire over it, but he's been grabbing at it in games like he's an old man all season. At some point he's going to go down and not come back up for 6-8 weeks and by then it might be 1-2-3 Cancun time.

I don't think Anthony Davis enjoys playing basketball anymore. That's why he didn't pick up a basketball all summer long. I think that his back pain is a big part of that.

Remember a couple of games back when LeBron and Westbrook talked about Davis needing to get his head right?

No that I know of. I don't think he's picked anyone yet.

Let’s just say what we are all thinking. AD will cry back pain for sure, so he doesn’t have to play us. He’s a mental midget and wants no part of being embarrassed with the focus on him.

I mean, I think that the back pain is real. It makes me think about Larry Bird, who spent the last seven years of his career fighting with back pain. He could get an injection that would lessen the pain enough for 3 hours for him to play, but there's no doubt that the later part of his career was ruined by the injury.

But Larry Legend had a lot more competitive drive and love for the game than Anthony Davis has ever had.
