You hear people say players are listed at a certain height but once you see them in person that height is wrong.
In person you can watch them on the bench, see how they interact with others.
You can see what they are doing off ball on the court.
Etc etc

Trying to see if Bagley looks as worthless in person as he does on TV.
But for real, getting up close look at pregame shot routines, shooting forms, how they carrying themselves in workouts and on the bench. All of this is something you can’t see on tv and would be worthwhile to get an up close look at before a trade (especially someone like Bagley).

The only trade I can see is a Hayes for Bagley trade. Both guys get a much needed new scenery. Sacramento get a shot blocker and rim runner for Fox and Haliburton and the Pelicans get steady play/production from Bagley especially on the boards.

As of right now, I wouldn’t trade Hayes for Bagley….
Maybe if it involves something else like Mitchell or Haliburton coming back and we send more picks.
But Hayes has more value. I’d rather use him to reel in a bigger fish.

I don't want us to make a trade of any substance. I would rather just ride this season out and see what this offseason looks like.

I honestly don't think we make a trade unless it's for a player who make sense in the long run with the current core. We definitely should not be pushing for a trade just to make the play in. That's why I don't believe we are looking at a guy like Hield.

Depends on if Griffin feels he has any pressure on his job.
Zion missing the season was pretty much the worst thing to happen to us, because I think it buys Griff 100% one more year.

I only want to make the play-in if Zion makes it back for at least ten regular-season games before that.
The point of making the play-in is to make the actual playoffs and get real playoff experience.

Yeah, basically all I would be open to is a secret blockbuster trade no one saw coming, like Paul George to Clippers type stuff, or, we need to just be opportunistic facilitators.
Like the Pacers or Cavs the others year and get someone like a Allen/Levert type that is getting moved for pennies on the dollar to make a larger trade work.

Well yeah, that’s what a normal, responsible GM would do. We have one that might be fighting for his job.
We’re not winning anything this year, but I don’t want to go full-on “tProcess” tank either. Luckily this team is flawed enough that we can get guys good developmental minutes and not worry about losing too many ping pong balls.
If we are hellbent on adding “win-now” players, I’d target players that would fit in our TPE on teams might have buyer’s remorse from a recent contract. Hopefully we can rebuild their value or resign them to a friendlier deal when we are more ready to compete in 23/24. List of potential guys (not all fit exactly in the TPE):
Bogdon Bogdanovic
Gallinari
Joe Harris
Daniel Theis
Tim Hardaway Jr
Bertans
Derrick White
Bojan Bogdanovic
Dwight Powell
Maxi Kleber
Kelly Olynyk
Terrence Ross
Josh Richardson
Even have a few that have been brought up before on here
LeVert (yesh)
Luke Kennard (double yesh)

Hardaway would be funny only for the fact that he reportedly turned down 22+ million a year from us to resign for a smaller, declining contract in Dallas
...To be clear I dont actually want Hardaway though.

If Levert fit in our TPE, he would be an interesting target. However, he does not. I would take Bertans only if Washington attached decent draft capital as his contract is bad. Don't see the Spurs parting with White cheaply, nor the Mavs with Kleber. Caldwell-Pope could be interesting at the right price as would Kennard.

New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks have seats reserved for pro personnel scouts at tonight's Kings-Cavaliers game. That's more than usual. Maybe it's nothing ... or maybe business is picking up with a month to go before the trade deadline.
If we were somehow able to get Haliburton, I would be ecstatic. He’s the exact player we need at PG. doubt the Kings trade him but apparently everyone is available for trade on that team

I think they would as part of a bigger deal. They would need to move one of Powell or Kleber if they want to make any improvements. They might even consider straight dumping one if they think they can use the savings to pay Brunson. Kleber hasn’t really been the same guy since his injury and they have a strange obsession with Powell.

Agreed.
Hali is the only player I want from the Kings.
Fox is a terrible 3pt shooter and Z needs spacing.

Haliburton is probably close to untouchable with the Kings TBH.

From ESPN
I will point out also that the Raptors need to shed a contract b/c they are not paying the tax, and they are just over it.
Raptors get NAW
Knicks get Sato
Pels get Fournier, 22 Cha 1st (top 18 protected, then top 16 protected next year), Boucher, Raptors 23 2nd.
one thing i did notice was several Jerami Grant trades, and his value is higher than i expected.
They had one with Kyle Anderson, Brandon Clarke and 2 1sts for Grant.
Another was Derrick Jones, Patrick Williams and a Portland lottery protected 1st for Grant.

What to watch: Tomas Satoransky.
At this point of the season, we would have thought that the Pelicans would be looking to upgrade the roster for a playoff push. Instead, injuries (namely Zion Williamson) have the Pelicans languishing in lottery position.
Moving forward, the focus is on the veteran guard Satoransky, who is on an expiring $10 million contract. The Pelicans could trade him and take back salary that stretches past this season if there is draft compensation attached.

Trade we would like to see: Satoransky and Garrett Temple to New York for Evan Fournier and a future first from Charlotte.

Honestly wins like this make me more thirsty for a big trade. Get one of those kings guards dammit
Posted on 1/12/22 at 12:15 pm to TeddyPadillac
We have a $3.9 million TPE that expires around the deadline. We should use that to help out a team close to the tax in exchange for a young player or pick. Also, we need to use the $17.1 million TPE by this offseason as well.
