we send Trey with Kira and 2 picks to Pacers
Pacers may be looking to move Sabonis or Turner, but they've made clear it isn't as a means to rebuild, but to try and go a different direction to still win now.
I think a three team trade is the only path it makes sense to end up with a Kings player, just dont see Indiana as that route given they are like the Kings in wanting to get back better fitting win now players, not hope for the future.

They're not really gonna get a good win now wing for either of those guys unless they put picks on the table, which is also something I don't believe they are willing to do.
The only other young wing in the league I could see they could maybe get for one of them that would be more of a win now move would be Reddish, but don't think there's anything they could do to get him as Hawks have no need for Turner or Sabonis.

To me, Sabonis or Turner for Siakam still makes the most sense for both teams. Thats the sort of deal I expect them to make. Swapping players that are bad fits one place that can hopefully be better fits with a more complimentary group around them. Or Sabonis for like Keldon Johnson(though Spurs might say no since they are very high on him, but they have the sort of positional redundancy that makes a lot of sense in a deal).
TBH, if we wanted to sweeten the pot, even though I still think Indy says no, you'd need to replace Trey with Herb minimum. As you rightfully pointed out, they also want wings they can win now with the guys they have left, Trey aint that...for now
...And then the collective sigh of Pels fans starts wondering if Fox is worth that, and I cant blame them.

Sorry about that.

He has some skill. But just too slow and stiff to play major minutes in the league. If he fills out and adds some strength, could be a rotational back up big. I never understood the fascination around him. Other than novelty..

And Denver fans thought they could put him as the centerpiece of a Jrue trade and have the best offer out there

I guess it's the fact he can handle the ball and shoot some at that size.

I agree he's the real deal, which is also why I think people get unrealistic with these trades
Because if you want good players from a team that still wants to win, you gotta give up good players/assets.
player(s) you dont like + Hart + Trey + Lakers 20XX pick isn't getting you multiple long-term difference makers like Haliburton + Hield...I wish it would, cause it would solve a lot of problems, but we'd need to be putting more into the pot.

satoransky & hayes for buddy is a legal trade

But the question comes back, who else is bidding?
And how motivated are the Kings to sell?
Kings want to win and Buddy does something every team can use.
While I don't think he's fetching a first projected higher than 20, I think they would want Herb, Hart, Trey in that order, or one of our acquired Bucks or Lakers first rounders + pieces.
And because they want to win now, I could also see them trying to use Hield + picks to bring someone bigger back. Like a Jerami Grant.

I'd be ecstatic if so. I just kinda see someone outbidding that, like the desperate Lakers coming back and offering Horton Tucker + salary filler + 2027 top 5ish protected first.

Lakers are already looking for ways to lower their tax bill, so I doubt they try to bring in more salary than they send out.
Currently to get Buddy they would have to send out THT, Nunn and 2 of their vets making the 2.6 million min. 3 vets to make it an even trade.
That's not a trade that Sacramento will make because it costs them money, plus they don't have the roster space to do it.
Any Lakers trade over 15 million in salary is almost impossible for them to pull off, unless they start putting Westbrook or AD on the market.

From Shamit's twitter:

The New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks have seats reserved for pro personnel scouts at tonight's Kings-Cavaliers game. That's more than usual. Maybe it's nothing ... or maybe business is picking up with a month to go before the trade deadline.

Wonder who it's for?
Has to be Buddy or Fox.
I can't decide if Fox would be worth the assets it would take to get him or not. Not a great shooter, which immediately makes me question his fit with Zion and BI. I think I'd pass on Fox, offer something like Sato+Hayes+2nds for Buddy.
Now if Haliburton is on the market, then they've got my full attention. Doubt that though.

I do find it odd, especially in this day and age, the need to physically send scouts at all…
