who says no.
I think the Pels say no, the Pacers say yes and the Raptors say yes in a hurry.
The Raptors get Turner, Name and 3 picks for OG. That's a lot, unless im missing something. But I guess somebody has to win the trade.

you say 3 picks like they are 3 firsts.
IT's Turner/NAW/1st for OG. 2 2nds for Birch going to NYK while we take Fournier and a 1st.

Where does OG fit with Zion, BI and Herb?
Posted on 1/17/22 at 12:43 pm to TigerinATL
He can make threes, and he can guard every position. He fits with any team.
You can never have too many 6'8" that can knock down threes and play elite defense.

I ignored the Knicks aspect somehow.
You would prefer OG, Fournier, 23 Dal 1st > Turner, NAW, 25 Mil 1st and 2 2nds?
I guess its basically do you like OG and Fournier over Turner and NAW because its pretty much impossible to say what that Milwaukee pick will be.
When you break it down like that it's closer than I originally thought but factor in what else we gave up, we lose out. Fournier is not going to be that big of a difference maker and does OG fit next to Zion/JV/BI/Herb? Plus do you want him taking 7.5 threes a game?
Maybe I'm undervaluing OG and overvaluing Turner. But Turners defense is so nice too.

Myles Turner is overrated. There's a reason Indy wants to get rid of him, and there's a reason they haven't been able to the last 2 years.
would you prefer Jaxson and NAW, or Fournier and OG on this team? who cares about the picks, best case scenario is you draft someone as good as NAW with those picks.

He has almost the same amount of FGA per game as BI. Factoring in a healthy Zion, which actually is pointless, who do you want him taking shots away from?
I honestly didnt know he was an elite defender. We definitely need that.
Zion/JV/OG/BI/Graham is your starting lineup. That team will put up points but i'd rather go after a PG. Scoring wont be an issue with Zion back, Herb keeps your defense and you upgrade from Graham.
But also, Fox is the only guard that anybody mentions and im terrified of overpaying for him. You would think his value would be down since he's in a down year, but I think any team that gets him is going to have to give up peak Fox value, not down year value.

uh...the most inefficient chucker in the league, NAW.
NAW takes 13.2 FGA per game, and only average 12.9ppg. He's one of the only guys in the league averaging more shot attempts than points. The only other players doing that are rookies.
JV isn't going to take 13 attempts per game either when Zion returns. Things will be drastically different when he plays.

quote:Yep. NAW plays 87% of his minutes at SG or SF, OG plays 86% at the 2 positions.

I know Temple has been playing more minutes at the guard spots, but I imagine having OG would cut into Temple's minutes as well.

best case is clarke whom I wanted for pels at 17 and went after naw to memphis at 21.
memphis strolled past chicago today. clarke was big. he had fun. tyler herro was also mid round.
no need to project incompetance going forward.
even the blind squirrel finds a nut.
plus, if theres any additional issue with zion griffin takes the fall.
fwiw
i noticed zions agent got zion good national publicity yesterday.
a photo all dressed up and with gf. a story about her and zion. see hes human. getting laid.
big smile. oh him. yeah.

Can't link it since I'm at work, but just read that we're interested in Caris LeVert

Can you say where you are seeing that? Don't see it on the twitters

I’m not surprised, we were rumored to be looking at LaVert and Dinwiddie when Brooklyn moved them. I mean at this point it should be “Pelicans are looking into every starting PG/SG on an NBA roster for a trade”

quote:Meh. Unless we can get him cheaply, I would not be that interested. Pretty inefficient scorer who does not really offer a whole lot else.

would not want Levert either. inefficient, not a good defender, and injury riddled. He's not a good 3 point shooter either. He's even bad at catch and shoot 3's too.
Unless we were trading Sato for him straight up, then i wouldn't want him, and i'm not giving up anything of value to get him, and the only reason i'd do that is so that we'd have his salary to include in a trade in the offseason since he's only got 1 year left on his contract.

Add on hell of an injury prone player. Hard pass.
We need 3pt shooters.
We are 24th in efficiency, its no surprise that 8 of the top 10 teams in 3pt shooting are playoff teams.

If the price is right, why not? He can handle the ball, get to the basket, create, rebound, and get to the line. We can always use more offense. His contract is reasonable. LeVert off the bench solves all kinds of problems for this squad. I wouldn't hesitate if the asking price is fair.

I can see Indy having interest in Jaxson if they're trading Turner. Sato/Jax/2nds for Lavert who becomes a slightly better, and much more expensive NAW?
I will say that Levert is decently high on the Drives per game stats. #14 in drives at 15 per game, and 10th in points at 8.8. Still, it seems like you're paying a lot for a small upgrade to NAW.

He does not even fit into our TPE whereby we could help them out cap-wise for a pick.
Posted on 1/18/22 at 11:19 am to TigerinATL
I'm not even sure how you can sit there with a straight face and say he's a small upgrade to NAW.
