You sure about that? Check his stats last season.

he played in 25 games last year dude...
he shot .403 & .386 from 3 in 2 years with HOU
he can still shoot, and he will be cheap

There’s a reason why he played 25 games... because he can’t shoot anymore.
Guy is 31 and was never super athletic to begin with. His time is out in this league.
Tried looking at his injury reports as well all last year. Looked like all he had was some back tightness for a game or so with the Suns around November, but everything else he seemed good to go.

Yeah gonna pass on him unless its near the minimum

Is Favors really a "stretch big"? He shot 21% from 3. His midrange game is decent so I guess they mean that, but I usually consider "stretch" the ability to go out to 3

Where’s Vucevic? That’s the guy no one is talking about in FA.

lots of talk about vuc...primarily about how whoever max's him will immediately regret it

Perfect. Hopefully every team with space feels the same and the Pels can swoop in and snag him a little cheaper.
Vuc is the exact type the Pelicans can hope to snag being a small market. I wouldn’t hate it.

Marc Stein was on Bill Simmons' pod today and mentioned that he thinks we could be the team that's promised Horford 4/$110M. Doesn't sound like it was sourced on his part but more based on feeling and the belief that he would be the perfect mentor for Zion.

Stein has been very connected to us in the past but most assumed it was through Demps.
I hope he has no legit sources with us.

Horford would not be the worst thing in the world. It’s a big contract but he is a vet that would bring a winning culture, and he is damn good

I'd do Horford for 4/$110m if the third year is a player option and the fourth year is a team option. Doubt he'd go for that though.

4 years is too long to be locked into Horford imo

there is a ton of smoke out there on the horford to pels thing.
every move so far has cleared space, even and maybe especially the move from 4 to 8.
I just want to remind everyone preparing to melt:
1) horford is a close to a sure thing that there is out there as far as impacting gameplay and wins/losses as a low usage player
2) for the next 4 years it is irrelevant who the highest paid player is
3) horford is a freak of nature athletically...he should age well and discounting injury is not likely to fall off a cliff
4) everybody loves the guy in ATL and BOS
maybe he would agree to a TO in year 4, maybe

I'm in, the potential assistance and ability to help unlock Zion and hayes makes it worth it. This is the only and perfect time for overpaying this type of guy.
In a vacuum, its too much; but considering the situation, it makes alot of sense.

You’re not wrong.
It would be however, an unmovable contract for 3 years and seriously limit the flexibility of a team trying to build.
ETA: I wouldn’t melt, as I’m sure the FO is smarter than me, it just doesn’t seem prudent at this juncture imo. It’s an insane price for a mentor.
