What would make you more excited?

1) Pels win the lottery but AD continues to want to be traded
2) AD signs the Supermax and the Pels pick #8 in the draft.

#1 pick by a mile

This team would never win shite with AD making over 40mil a year.

It cannot be stated enough how big of a bitch AD is. Look at Dame right now. Same draft class and got swept in the first round. What did he do? Worked his arse off all offseason and has his team fighting for the conference finals. AD wins his first playoff series and what does he do? Signs with Lebron’s agent and sabotages the season in an attempt to make a super team in LA. frick AD.

To play devil’s advocate, this game is about stars. Zion may be a potential star, but it is an unknown. AD is a known star.

Remains to be seen.

That being said, I don’t think you can win an NBA championship with AD as your centerpiece. You’d need to add a Giannis, Jimmy Butler, alpha type to carry the team in crunch time. And a coach to put it all together.

Has anyone they've anointed as a generational talent ever been a serious disappointment besides health issues? I think you have to go for 7-9 years of control of a generational talent, especially if you've been given approval and resources to build the team properly.

One could argue that Zion is already a bigger star than AD

To be fair , Dame team didn’t get worse by choice . Nurk got much better, they got Kanter at the deadline , picked up Hood as well ...

Pels on the other hand let Rondo walk, DMC wasn’t resigned , they signed Elfrid Payton lol no disrespect. What does the Pels have outside Jrue?

Portland do have CJ McCollum , Dame & Nurk at least .

The Pels had AD, Holiday, Randle, and Mirotic. It isn’t like our team was full of scrubs.

I agree with this. People like to shite on AD, but it's not his fault our overall roster was shitty this past year. In order to succeed in the NBA you need a mixture of superstar talent and depth. You can't be successful with just having one of those components. Yes, this season started out with AD, Niko, and Jrue but our bench was terrible. Niko is a decent player, but I don't consider him to be anywhere near elite status like AD and Jrue. Our bench has always been terrible the entire time Demps was the GM. Bench play is critical when your are trying to make a playoff run.

I would take the reset with Zion and other assets mainly because I don’t know how we continue to improve the roster with AD’s giant contract.

Roll the dice on Zion. AD has shown his true colors this past year and we haven't won shite with him so for.

I agree with this as well. As I dont blame AD, and parts of the trade request saga was handled well other parts not so much. So first off I don’t see any chance of reconciliation with him anyway but even if so I’ll take the next “Generational talent” and start over with him on a reasonable rookie deal easier to build a roster around over a disgruntled superstar with a huge contract
