When Jinks came to the varsity last year, I saw him behind the two fences in the back and I hollered at him to see if I could go back there, he said "it ain't my damn fence, come on", so I jumped em both and shot the shite with him for 10-15 minutes. It was a helluva night.

Same. Saw them at the Garden for NYE. As a kid who grew up listening to rap mostly, I didn't expect to like it.

They killed it.

Bruce Springsteen "Born in the USA" tour in the PMAC in 1984. It was at this time he really got popular and started doing much larger venues.

It's the only concert I've been to that absolutely wore me out. He played for over two hours without stopping. He had a huge tub of ice water sitting off to the side that he would walk over to while stll playing and dunk his head into to cool off. When he finally finished his set and went off stage, after a few minutes he came back for an encore and played for another hour.

Concert started on time at 8pm and we didn't get out of there until well after midnight.

Bonus: Worst concert I ever went to was Van Halen in the early 80s. Shame, because I was a huge fan at the time. They had the volume cranked so loud that all the songs sounded the same. Just a huge wall of loud. Ears rang for three days.

I saw Blackberry Smoke at HOB and it was bad arse! They rocked the house that night.

I also saw Seether in San Diego back in 2011 and they were fricking awesome too.

They took no prisoners did they? Never saw them but from listening to them, they probably didnt break even on their coke bill per tour.

I've seen it. Also saw Floyd in 94.

Dont get me wrong, I liked his show. It was very entertaining and very theatrical.

That being said, Id rather get the opportunity to see Gilmour live again.....

I've seen better concerts (John Fogerty tops the list.) but the greatest concert experience I've ever had was easily Eric Clapton at Sandstone Amphitheatre in Kansas City in 1990. It was his first show after SRV's helicopter crash and the vibe around the whole place was heavier than lead. Felt more like a wake than a concert. I can't think of another show where the audience felt more connected with each other. I've been to better concerts (I'm not saying he played bad. He was good, just not the best show I've ever seen.) but I don't think I've ever been to a concert that was more important for the audience to attend.

Tie between Hank Jr at the Cynthia Woods pavilion in 93 (I think) and Reverend Horton Heat in Deep Ellum circa 1998.

Honorable mention: White Zombie 1999 and Ben Folds 2016.

Some of my best concert experiences involve Live, actually.

I saw them at a street festival in Jackson, MS back in 2005/6ish. They opened with "Like I Do." It's got some heavy/sharp snare throughout the song. They played most of the song with the lights way down. The weather was sketchy that night - right when they hit the big crescendo and smashed the cymbal and snare, they brought the lights up, lightning crackled in the sky and the wind started howling. It was WILD.

I also saw them at Tulane back in 2001. This was in an auditorium, so it was intimate, to say the least. This was right after 9/11. The show ended with the lead singer coming out wrapped in the American flag and sang "Overcome", which was getting a lot of airplay after 9/11.
