Need help on one that I remember from my youth but I don't know who sang it or what the title was.

It was about some mountain people who guarded a great treasure and the valley people that lived below. The valley people were jealous of the treasure that that they heard the mountain people had so the went up the mountain and killed them. Then they got to the treasure and was just a message that said something like peace and goodwill.

Anyone?
