It’s the drizzling shits!

Maybe eight decent acts? Maybe?

What you dont think Miley Cyrus, Chance the Rapper, Imagine Dragons, Jay-Z, and Akon are a good pick for the 50th anniversary tribute of the greatest festival of all time?

Friday and Saturday are good but nothing special. Sunday is hot garbage except for a couple of artists.

Take that same lineup and replace the name “Woodstock” with Austin City Limits, Hangout, or Bonnaroo...would anyone be able to tell the difference?

Rival Sons
John Fogerty
Gary Clark Jr
The Raconteurs

Those are the only shows I'd watch. Maybe the Black Keys if they play blues music and not pop.

I think that's the problem. There are some pretty obvious nods to the original, but it's just another festival.

Instead of waking up to Hendrix playing the Star Spangled Banner, you could wake up to Jay Z playing 99 Problems.

Very much in agreement that there's no way I'm trekking to Watkins Glen to see this abomination.

However, I am curious who yall think should have been included in Woodstock 50 that would have made it better?

Gov't Mule, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Pearl Jam, TTB, Son Volt, Neil Young, Panic, SCI.

ETA: and Joni Mitchell because she didn't make it to the first one but wrote that great song about it.

Who would make it better??? Well it is Woodstock.

So like anyone that has had more success than one song played on the Disney Channel??

And sure...........Robert Plant........but he is terrible if not with Zep.

It would be a weak lineup for all those festivals too TBH.

Instead of waking up to Hendrix playing the Star Spangled Banner,

I remember at Woodstock '99 on the final day everyone was buzzing that there would be a special event after the Red Hot Chili Peppers played. So they end their set and the PA is all get ready for something awesome!!! Everyone thought Aerosmith was going to come out since they had originally been on the artist list. Instead they played about half of the Hendrix Star Spangled Banner and said good night now go home.

That's really what kicked off the rioting. People were fricking pissed. We had been priced gouged, left out on a concrete hellscape (it was held at an abandoned AF base w/no sun shade whatsoever), the money machines had run out by the second day, the free water went down day one, there was sewage all over, and fricking a-hole extreme roided out bros had been douching it up all weekend. There was a lot of pent up anger going into that last day b/c of how festival had been so horribly run.

MTV liked to blame Limp Bizkit for playing the song Break Stuff as what led to the riots but people had already been breaking things before then. The fires started gradually on the 3rd day b/c people had passed out peae candles. Those eventually turned into campfires and then turned to bonfires where crazy fricks were jumping over them Lord of the Flies style. But it really wasn't until we all got that final frick you after the Chili Peppers that it all went nuts. The cops came in rocking riot gear and starting beating peoples asses and it just spiraled out of control. I was maybe 15 feet from some poor suckers Mercedes that got flipped over and set on fire. Some dude climbed up a sound system pole and frickers built a fire around him so he couldn't get down. Merch trailers were getting looted and my friends and I decided to GTFO of there. Later back at our campsite a bulldozer plowed through a 8 foot wall (the entire thing was walled off in an effort to stop people from sneaking in for the show or bringing in food/water) so that some firemen could douse a small campfire nearby. They damn near ran people over and gave no fricks.

So, you got a Wookstock experience. What's to complain about? Not my fault you all didn't get naked and frick and really experience it.
