Ha wasn’t even thinking when I first read your post I was like oh they’re coming in hot (like the show was today not tomorrow) that’s why I said that. Enjoy your night in ATL tonight. Plenty of great restaurants and bars (not downtown tho either go to West Midtown, or Midtown neither are far from downtown and enjoy some libations )
Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately we have the damn baseball game at 9:00 so we’re looking to be back in the room by then. May try to grab something quick.

I’ll be in the 300 level tomorrow. Won tix on local sports radio station so can’t really complain. Looking forward to another old man Metal show! ??
Yeah man they’re fantastic no matter where ya sit. I prefer floor level but was in the nosebleeds for their show at Mile High in 2017 and it was great.
Enjoy the show!

If you’re downtown Stats is a sports bar to watch the game to check out. Or Taco Mac if there’s one around. Plenty of beer and TVs and the grilled wings are pretty damn good

Kind of surprised tix are as cheap as they are for this tour.

I’m at the show and I sure hope the sound quality here in the Dome is much better for Metallica than it was for Suicidal Tendencies and Pantera. I know those bands’ songs and could barely understand anything.

Not the first time I've heard about acoustics being an issue at MBS

Sound got better after Pantera, thankfully.

Mine and my boys first time seeing them, too. I loved it. Opening with Creeping Death had me jacked, one of my favorites. And Orion!

Keep in mind the stadium was half full when Pantera was on. Packed for Metallica. That affects the sound. Now don’t get me wrong this is a Metallica tour and they’re the biggest metal band in the world that had 60k people there to see them. Their sound is gonna be perfect.
They were really really tight last night. Saw them at MB Stadium a few years ago and remember Lars slowing down the tempo on some of the faster songs then. Last night he was on point.
Epic night. And yes. ORION !!!

They are coming through Houston June 14th and was considering going, but not gonna pay what tickets are at this point.
Will wait til a few hours before and see if can pick up dirt cheap. Was able to get Sessanta box tickets below original cost 3hrs before last year.
Saw them for Summer Sanitarium tour, but not a fan of this new stage setup they are using.

Well we did get shafted on song #3. First of all, I had no idea Charlotte was a one-night show Saturday. I just saw that it was weekend and figured it was a two-nighter. They got Ride the Lightning in the third slot, maintaining the streak of one-night shows with song 3 from the 80’s.
We got Cyanide. Oof. Such a disappointment after the pattern of different 80’s songs in that same slot every show before.
Production-wise, of course the show was first rate as most already know. We were in front of James. Not on the rail, but just a couple of rows back. Of course he was interacting pretty heavily with the fans.
My opinion is solidly reinforced that the round stage in the middle of the floor absolutely sucks. I will never change my mind on that. A rectangular stage at the end of the floor is so much better for the fans on the floor and more inducive of a great atmosphere on the floor in general. Most of the show with this huge round stage the band is nowhere near where you happen to be standing, and that’s true no matter where you’re standing. If I see Metallica again I seriously might splurge on snakepit tickets. Much closer to the band at most times.
None of this was unexpected though so I won’t complain any further. It really is top notch production wise and they were absolutely on point last night. Happy to get that fifth decade under my belt and so happy for my son to get his first time in.

Agreed, as mentioned just above. Unfortunately though it isn’t exactly new for them. 2004 arena tour they had the stage in the middle of the floor. I hated it then too.
