quote:so true. I hadn't listened to the Zac Brown Band at all but they were coming to town and a bunch of friends of mine were going on and on about him. So I did a YouTube search and picked the video with the most views. It was "chicken fried". It was fricking awful. I've been told that he has better stuff but that bullshite tripe forever tainted my opinion of him as a musician.
I tell everyone that as soon as I hear "old Hank", "skynyrd" or them tell me how country they are, I tune everything out after that.

Spot on. Luke Bryan is the poster child for this brand of shite. "Girl you make my speakers go boom boom." Rotten. Just rotten.

If Luke Bryan and Taylor Swift ever have a baby together music, as we know it, will be doomed. Thd kid will be the musical equivelant of the antichrist.

I love how people who have no interest in country music keep making the time to comment on it.

what's funny is they think this bro-dude-frat country shite is "country music"
it's just commercialized, low hanging fruit, designed to appeal to specific demographics.
I mean shite, they have focus groups for these songs that these writers write.

they pretty much write their music for dumb, hick teenagers these days. It literally can't take more than a few minutes to write some of the shite coming out of there these days, "OK talk about liking cold beer, your truck, and living in a small town...and just build around that. These idiots will eat it up."
its funny, back when country music was actually original it had the "every song is about a dog dying, woman leaving" stereotype, but now that its more mainstream every song is basically the same now

Country has been terrible since the 70s and it wasn't all that great then
Country music was great in the 70's as was the 60's and 50's. There has been some good country artist since the 70's, but only a few in my opinion: Keith Whitley, Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakam, George Straight & Don Williams are some who kept it true.
