I haven't taken time to give it a whole lot of thought about the "most underrated band of all time", but I never understood why the following bands never made it as big in the US as I felt they merited:

I always thought The Alarm was very much overlooked in the 1980's they made some very good music. Strength is one of my favorite albums.
