Where does The Killers ‘Mr. Brightside’ rank in your 2000’s favorite songs?

I think it’s one of the better songs of the decade.

Not even in the top 3 of that album imo. Hot Fuss is fantastic, and Mr Brightside is one of the blander songs imo. “Somebody Told Me” is even the better hit single.

1a Mr. Brightside
1b Welcome to the Black Parade
1c Boulevard Of Broken Dreams
Purely on nostalgia. I was an angsty crawfish in junior highs.

It’s a solid song, but prob wouldn’t crack the top 20.
2000’s had some great songs, I’ll go with the Middle by Jimmy Eat World.

Not even their best song but it definitely ranks up there.
95% of Hot Fuss is classic. Maybe one throwaway song.

Mr. Brightside is the best song on the album.
It would crack my top 20 of that decade for sure. It's a great damn song.

I've never really understood why MBS is always talked about as THE song. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome and I love it. But like this thread would indicate, it's almost like anytime talking about that particular genre of music or the killers specifically, MBS is always considered some kind of go-to selection. I was in my senior year of HS when this came out so I'm smack dab in the middle of the target audience, and again I really like it, but hell it's probably only my 4th or 5th favorite song just on hot fuss. I don't even know if MBS would make my top 15 killers songs, much less top 15 or 20 of the entire decade.

Speaking of The Killers, they wrote this song for Robbie Williams and played on it. I keep imagining Brandon's vocals on lead

I’m not a huge fan of the song to be honest, but I love “All These Things That I’ve Done”

The Killers were awesome live at voodoo. It was shocking honestly how good they were.
Mr Brightside is a song that really everyone born in the 90s would know and its just a fun song to listen to

Not very high because it reminded me of something not very pleasant, irl
Plus I’ve never been a huge Killers fan

Their second best song behind Dustland Fairytale. Brightside is good and fun, but the nearly monotone verses keep it from being great. Overall though that is one fantastic record.

Possibly #1, along with When We Were Young

I liked it better the first time I heard it when it was called Queen Bitch by David Bowie.

Reminds me of BR
Think they play it in TS during replay reviews.

“Somebody Told Me”
and When You Were Young were the only Killers songs that registered with me.
Mr. Brightside is super meh, IMHO, for how much praise it gets from early aughters.
