SIAP - I searched and didn't see it. I know this will draw scoffs from a bunch here For context, I'm 32.. There's about 15 bands on this list that I was big into in high school.
Some of the notables:
- AFI
- Alkaline Trio
- Senses Fail
- Silverstein
- The Starting Line
- Hawthorne Heights
- Thursday
- Armor For Sleep
- Anberlin
- Bayside
- Manchester Orchestra
- Taking Back Sunday
- Bright Eyes
- Saosin
Only a few missing that I would like to see..
- Brand New
- Thrice
- Coheed and Cambria
- Finch
- Boys Night Out

awesome fest but fitting 60+ bands in 12 hours is a head scratcher to me. IMO it should be expanded to 2 days.

A band you will never see again. Jesse Lacey is beyond done.

Definitely. They're one of my top 5 favorite bands.. I saw them around 2015 at UNO Lakefront Arena and I've resigned myself to that being the last time I'll see them Manchester Orchestra opened for them and it was great

I’m sure they were approached, timing might not have worked. Looks like they’re in Europe this summer.

Coheed and Cambria
Probably were offered too. New album coming out in May, I’m sure they’ll announce a headlining tour as that date approaches. They might even be added to the festival.

Finch
Pretty sure they’re done unless they decide to do another What It Is To Burn anniversary like they did in 2013. I wish they’d do one for Say Hello to Sunshine because I loved that album too.

Boys Night Out
I have no idea what their status is, but hell yeah I’d love to see them too. Make Yourself Sick is one of my favorite albums of that era.

I just want this repressed. That album was my high school years.

This is also the only time I saw them.

That album, start to finish, is incredible. I wish more people knew about it. I saw a live performance a while back on YouTube where they played the whole thing. Having a hard time finding it now.

I'm old, but I'd enjoy this. Several bands on the bill that I'd like to see.

I'd love to see Manchester Orchestra live, but not in a festival setting.
Alkaline Trio would be fun as well.

This lineup is just mega-nostalgia.
Posted on 1/19/22 at 4:24 pm to sweetwaterbilly
Damn that's a lineup. Some tough decisions would have to be made with it being only one day.

Man nothing like a When We were Young festival filled with bands that you were about 5 years too old to really get into the first time

Starting to see a lot of people saying it’s possibly a scam or a cluster waiting to happen. It works out to being only about 35 minutes total per act. It being Livenation gives it credibility, but it doesn’t really add up.

Been seeing a lot of those stories as well.
VICE
An interesting theory someone posted is that Live Nation is basically trying to fleece former emo kids with those ticket prices to pay their litigation fees for the Astroworld incident
I had considered going, but not at those frickin prices I'll just make a playlist

30 minute sets from each band throughout the day. it's not a scam, but it would be impossible to see all of the bands you'd want to see in one day. I guess that's why they added 2 more days with the same lineup. which to me is weird and definitely not a "normal" festival thing to do.
I feel like having 60 bands over the course of 3 days should have been the play here, like a normal festival. but we'll see how this goes.

Not true. I could see 30 minute sets from every interesting band on that bill in about 70 minutes.
