In an alternate world somewhere, imagine if they all acted like adults... In 1996 VH does a tour w/ DLR and SH... Hell, like the Doobie Bros.

Both Dave and Sammy play guitar... they could've even been on stage at the same time. A 5 piece band.

Could've toured for years.

Instead, we got shite after 1996. I saw them in 07 and it was garbage.

He can play some basic stuff... Ice Cream Man, Could this Be Magic...

My whole point was we, as fans, got screwed. Pretty much since 1996, they were toast. 20 years and done.

On a side note, I was hoping EVH would emerge in late 60s to rebound his career w/ some acoustic reworks.

Touch of Grey by the Dead

My introduction to them, I was coming of age in the Touch head era, can arguably say that song changed my life.

despite the side eye by original heads, it’s a great song. One of their very best

I liked Gary Charone as well, but I liked Extreme too. EVH’s ego got the best of him. Dave’s ego was even bigger.

Dave was a classically trained musician also.

Aside from Sammy, Michael and Gary, everyone else involved with them were egotistical assholes…. Wolfie doesn’t count in my book, as he never should have been playing with them.

Everything started going downhill when David Lee Roth left the band.

Well, he kept showing up to parties and shows with younger and younger groupies. The band didn't want to get busted by the fricking feds or something.

Plus, Eddie and Dave were basically the a-hole version of the immovable object vs. irresistible force. Dave wanted to remain a hard rock band and Ed wanted to play keyboards and be more mainstream. I prefer Dave's musical taste but you can't argue with the fact that 1984 was their biggest selling album. I wasn't a fan of Jump or I'll wait, but Panama and Hot For Teacher are classic VH.

Peak VH? Career wise, 1984. Musically, Diver Down.

I think "I'll Wait" is their best song by far. And they have a lot of good ones. It's all personal taste.
