Infinity is my fav Williams song, sang it to my kids every night they were being rocked to sleep. And given my singing voice, I probably scarred my kids for life, but maybe they got the point.

So many great songs mentioned.
Greatest beer drinking songs are no doubt family tradition and you never even called me by name.

My favorite classic country songs are dinosaur, the blues man, old violin, the grand tour, the race is on, Diggin up bones, the ride, mama tried, mama’s don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys, etc.

I’ll add Chattahoochee as I haven’t seen that one mentioned yet.

Charlie Pride may or not have been mentioned, but San Anton and Crystal Chandeliers are both great songs. John Conlee and Rose Colored Glasses and Old School are good to have on a fall playlist.

It's "He Stopped Loving Her Today" or "I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry".

San Antone and Set 'em Up Joe are easily in my top ten all time. As for #1, as much as I would like to say it's from Hank, Merle, George or Waylon, I think it might actually be Crazy Eddie's Last Hurray

And just in case it hasn't been mentioned in this long thread,

Another of my favorites is Merle Haggard's "The Way I Am"...again, great lyrics....

"Wish I was down, on some blue bayou, bamboo cane stuck in the sand, but the road I'm on, don't seem to go there, so I just dream and keep on being the way I am..."

I can almost see- that bobber dancing- but I just dream and keep being the way I am
This was the favorite song of one of my favorite people. He loved to hear me do that song.
I did it for him for the final time about 12 years ago at his last party/fish fry, he was dying of cancer.
His sons, wife and 2 brothers were all there. We were out there in his barn cooking, drinking and bullshitting, surrounded by bassboats, canoes, homemade plywood boats and shellcracker skiffs. That's not supposed to be a crying song, but everybody did.
Almost everyone there that day are dead now

Prine refused to be associated with such a song that would offend actual country artists. He would not take writing credit or accept royalties. The story i read recently said Goodman finally bought a really nice jukebox and delivered it to Prine as a thank you.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have that many telecasters onstage at one time, in most states anyway.

I can't even begin to fathom the greatest but I can say there is none better to me that Neon Moon by Brooks & Dunn.
