"Once in a Lifetime" by Talking Heads was mine. Nowhere near my favorite song/band or anything; it was just the song that I thought of the moment I first opened Napster.

No idea, but I remember messing with BearShare and LimeWire and programs like those. They absolutely ruined the family PC.

Voodoo by Godsmack

I was in 6th grade. Circa 2000 I believe. Then I downloaded some Metallica, Alice in Chains, Rob Zombie, Guns n Roses, Van Halen, etc. I was really into rock music at that time.

I didn't believe my sister it would work... she talked me into it saying Napster was real.

She was right

Probably at 1x amirite?

The first thing I downloaded was probably a live recording of some jam band. I was into the music trading scene in the late 90's and downloaded a lot of FLACs and traded a lot of CDs.

No clue. Can't remember if it was even on Napster or Kazaa or Limewire. I do remember it taking 3-4 minutes per song.

But I guess remembering that for the younger generation is like me remembering the first CD I bought - Def Leppard - Hysteria. And the first cassette tape I bought - Michael Jackson - Thriller. And the first LP I bought the E.T. Soundtrack.

I had dial-up Internet and it took 30 minutes per song on a good day.

Those were the days.....

Napster- David Allen Coe - Little Suzie's shallow throat. Yeah I know, really classy.

Napster circa '98. AC/DC Night Prowler was among the first if not the first. Took about 15 minutes on dialup. Dude at work installed it on his work PC and showed me how he could download a song in about 20 seconds. I was blown away, but never took the chance at work.

When I went legit with iTunes, Zebra songs were my first two purchases.
