Jethro Tull. 1973. Touring for the Living in the Past album.

Saw David Bowie the following week touring for the Alladin Sane album. Lots of Ziggy stuff too.

Both shows at the Memphis Mid-South Coliseum.

i was there. Thought Soundgarden sucked live. but Rage and Metallica were worth the wait.

I could not agree more. Soundgarden are a great band but were one of the most boring live bands out there. Rage & Metallica are 1 & 2 in my order of greatest live bands I have ever seen. The pit for Rage was one of the most brutal I have ever seen & was the last one I was ever in. One a side note seeing Waylon Jennings that day was a treat. I was able to see Sponge on the 2nd stage for 2 songs before heading over to see Rage. Sponge was so coked out of their minds when they came out on stage & were still great.

my nephew who was a senior in highschool at the time was in that pit. Came back looking like he had played an entire football game.

One of the most under-rated bands of the era. I think I saw that show also, Potliquor was the opening act.

Late 70s. Styx at Hirsch Coliseum, Shreveport.

Went back to Hirsch last year to a Lipizzaner show and it was MUCH smaller than I remember. Lol
