What do you guys think of the band Ghost?

I’ve heard the band name floating around for a couple years now and thought they were the traditional “deep low growl” Swedish black metal sound.
Checked out some of their music today and I have to say that I am pretty impressed. They are very original sounding and have some really catchy songs. Not a big fan of the Satanic stuff though, that kind of shite I feel they can do without. Instrumentals are really solid and they have an interesting approach.

Its basically their entire gimmick. I dig the music. Meliora is a fantastic album.

Sounds like they're headed towards a cheesy 80's metal sound. Earlier stuff was better, heavier on the Satan shtick though.

I've given them a few listens and I just don't get it. Seems I'm in the minority though based on their following.

They are one of the more divisive bands in metal right now so you are not alone.

I like 'em, don't love 'em, but like a fair amount of their stuff. Solid band.

Its impressive the main guy pretty much writes all the music. I like that they have a central theme in their albums and tell a story. Overall Meliora is probably their best album. The new one is really good though, especially if you like 80s bands like Scorpions.

I’ve listened to “Rats” like ten times. It’s prettg badass and sort of has a refreshing sound. It’s nice to hear a new’ish band that isn’t playing folk shite.

Saw them open for Iron Maiden a year or so ago. Sounded good. I'm not religious or anything, but felt like I needed to go to church afterwards.
