L7: Pretend We’re Dead.

It’s a great documentary that’s straightforward and honest. It’s also NSFW, but it’s really funny and sad as well. It raised my respect level for the band.

"If I Leave Here Tomorrow" on Netflix

I watched this today. I was in high school in the late 70's and listened to a lot of Skynyrd because my brother was a big fan. I never heard much about the band members other than Ronnie Van Zant since he was the lead singer/front man. It's a very interesting documentary especially if you are a fan of Southern Rock.

Fair warning. On my phone, I got several pop-ups before I could press the play button. On my computer, I just got one. Facebook share link.

The movie plays prefectly fine on both.

On January 30th 1970 The Warehouse opened it’s doors to thousands of fans to see The Flock, Fleetwood Mac and The Grateful Dead. In the ensuing twelve years some of the best musicians in the world would grace the stage. This documentary is an attempt to capture some of the magic that so many of us missed out on.

TIL it costs $10K to use 30 sec of music in a doc

Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story

I saw this one on Prime over the weekend. Good one if you like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Company. Its surprising how influential Exodus was for these bands...the youtube link would not pop up due to age restrictions.

Tragically hip, no dress rehearsal on prime. As a canuck it's likely required viewing for me. It's well done
